My favorite so far
Revisado: 04-22-25
I enjoyed everything about this. AJ is a true boss babe in every sense. She’s the first and only GM in the league and leads by example. She’s all business when it comes to her team and players, avoiding being too personal with the people she works with. Ronan has recently become a single dad to 9-month-old Abby and is doing everything in his power to take care of her but it’s weighing on him. The tension between AJ and Ronan continues and he seems to be the only one that can’t get along with her. We learn more about their past on another hockey team and the animosity begins to make sense. AJ puts her feelings aside and the team first when Ronan is stuck without childcare. As a result, AJ gets injured protecting Abby while in the stands at a game and Ronan is there to help her while she heals from her injuries.
I was captivated by these two and their journey as they unwind the past and discover the truth. They are absolute fire when they connect physically and then so sweet when taking care of Abby and spending time together outside of the rink. The mutual respect, love and admiration they have for each other is joy to watch. They have plenty of obstacles to work through, but they are stronger together and it shows. These two also just pulled the best out of each other. Ronan was less grumpy and open to his teammates and started to understand what true family is and that it’s not always biological. AJ discovers the power of a strong support system and a girl gang. She is able to find balance, focus and show her softer side.
This is the perfect casting. I will never complain about Sebastian York as a grumpy single dad. However, he embodies Ronan perfectly giving us his bossy bedroom side and swoony, sweet, doting dad and fierce protector. Angelina Rocca delivered the perfect balance of boss babe at work and the woman who treated Abby like she was her own with such love. AJ was a natural and born to be a mom but never blessed that way and you felt it with this performance.
Each book in this series leaves me excited for the next and this one is no exception. I enjoyed this one from page 1 until the end and couldn’t stop listening.

Historia
Crushes are harmless—unless they involve your best friend’s grumpy, off-limits brother. Gannon Brewer is the epitome of my type. He’s at least ten years older than me, emotionally unavailable, and highly disagreeable—a walking red flag in a tailored suit. But do I listen to that? No. In fact, when his office plants start dying, I convince myself that I can ignore the pheromones and save the philodendron. Now I’m in his office every week, dodging sinful smirks and heated stares, reminding myself to reach for the watering can—not him. But one “ivy incident” changes everything.

Grumpy / Sunshine and much more. Just pure fun!
Revisado: 04-21-25
Every time I think I’ve found my favorite Brewer sibling; Adriana gives us another that I can’t resist. Gannon Brewer, the serious, workaholic CEO is no exception. He is all business with no interest in romantic entanglements or relationships. Carys as his foe, was perfection. She also is Tate Brewer’s best friend so that means we see more of Tate and that’s never a problem. Carys has recently left her job to start her own business venture, Plantcy. She meets with Gannon in hopes of building her business by obtaining Brewer Enterprises as a client.
Unknowingly, these two have always been attracted to each other but anything between them is considered off limits. However, when they are alone in a room together, it is clear how deep that attraction is, and they are combustible. The banter, innuendos, and sexual tension between these two is fantastic. Not only will they work together but agree to a physical arrangement as well. No messy feelings required. That’s when things really heat up. Their first physical encounter is fire. They quickly find out they have a lot more in common than the bedroom. These two seemed to be just what the other needed and didn’t know it. As Gannon’s layers unravel, you see his caring side when he just wants to take care of Carys. He’s also overwhelmed when Carys genuinely does things to make him happy just because with no ulterior motives.
Jack Calihan and Angelina Rocca were so entertaining bringing out the many facets of Gannon and Carys. Jack went from Gannon’s tough business mode to heartwarming and romantic as he takes care of Carys. Angelina delivered all the sass, humor and vulnerability of Carys.
Adriana Locke is one of the best at small town romance with big family dynamics. This one was a perfect example. I couldn’t stop listening, especially as Gannon and Carys story unfolds. There’s more to their story that will melt your heart. I dare you not to fall in love with Gannon and Carys by the end of this story.

Historia
A sexy, small town, grumpy sunshine, single dad, sports romance from USA Today Bestselling Author Willow Aster. I fell in love with his little girl first. From the moment nine-year-old Becca Fox and I hugged, it was like we’d known each other forever. Precocious, sweet, and kind, I just knew this little girl was exceptional. Her dad, though? Not so much. Bowie Fox checks every box in the looks department—rugged, intense, and the kind of man who makes you forget how to breathe—but his personality? About as warm as a snowstorm.

Single dad swooning continues!
Revisado: 04-12-25
I adore this series. Single dads and sports? I’m in. Bowie, Poppy, and Becca were pure entertainment from start to finish. Poppy and Becca have an unbreakable bond from their first meeting. What’s not to love about Bowie’s adorable girl, Becca? However, Bowie only has eyes for his daughter, until Poppy. They spend time together at Westin’s wedding and then intimately after the wedding when there is a mix up and her hotel room is given away and she stays in his suite. Bowie continues to keep Poppy at a distance afterwards because she doesn’t fit into his priorities or plans. Then a positive pregnancy test changes everything.
Bowie may be a grump with the gooey center when it comes to Becca, but the more you find out about his past, the more you appreciate him and admire his devotion to his daughter. When the surprise pregnancy shock wears off, I loved watching Bowie and Poppy’s relationship develop. Besides Bowie and Poppy, there’s the friendship between Poppy and Becca that will melt your heart. Plus, the bonus of the single dad teammates will never be boring.
Found family is one of my favorite tropes. I think it’s practically built in with sports romances. This series is some of the best and I think this book might be the best example. True framily, as Bowie and Becca would say. One of the things I love best is the camaraderie, banter and loyalty of these teammates as they navigate love and fatherhood. However, the girl gang of significant others are thriving with their own accomplishments and have the unwavering support of these men. I also smiled the most with this story. The baby shower chapter is worth the read alone. Wicked stellah….
The narration by JF Harding, Samantha Brentmoor and special guest, Lily D Moore, was fantastic. JF and Samantha continue to show why they are some of the best. JF showed all sides of Bowie. His initial gruffness with Poppy, frustration dealing with his family, and pure devotion to his daughter and later Poppy. Samantha handled all facets of Poppy brilliantly. Her positivity, then her insecurity when she finds out about the pregnancy, and her utter adoration for Becca. I only have one word for Lily’s performance …DElightful!!!

Single parent, romantic suspense and so good.
Revisado: 04-01-25
Book 4 of this series delivered! Dakota Davies continues to captivate us with this small town of Finn River, Idaho. Vivian, with her son Mateo, is starting over after leaving her dirty vice cop ex-husband. On her way into town, she stops to help at an accident scene and has her first run in with Everett, a local cop. Understandably, she wants nothing to do with the police and avoids Everett going forward. It’s a small town so they continue to cross paths without incident until Vivian comes into trouble and possible threats from her past.
Not only do they have an undeniable attraction to each other, but when forced to spend time together, they realize they are both struggling with the same single parent issues and begin to find support in each other.
As this happens, Everett is still pursuing a serial killer before the trail gets too cold. Are these two things related? Dakota will keep you guessing until the end. I also enjoyed seeing characters like Zach, Hutch and Ava from the other books and FBI agent Luke Ballard (please tell me we get his story one day).
Gregory Salinas and Jill Smith were terrific narrating this story. Gregory has been in my ears a lot lately and I couldn’t be happier. He portrayed all facets of Everett. His grumpy, serious demeanor when tracking a serial killer. His protective nature, his vulnerability as he worries about doing right by his son and Vivian to his utter sweetness dealing with Mateo. Jill Smith is new to me, and she was perfect as Vivian. She showed Vivian’s strength and her absolute ability to remain calm under the extreme pressures she had to endure, all while doting on her son and her hesitancy to trust in another man.
Overall, I was riveted from start to finish. While this is the 4th book of the interconnected series and can be enjoyed as a standalone, I would recommend enjoying book 3 first to appreciate the full story line that starts there. We are left with hints to book 5 and the final installment and I can’t wait.

You might think the problem would be waking up in Vegas, hungover, next to a beautiful woman who’s wearing your boxer briefs, and finding out you married her. But you’d be wrong. I, Nolan Cassidy, international charmer, and maker of mischief have fallen head over heels for Cora Delaney. I want to be married to the lass. So, you might think the problem would be that she wants an annulment. But, again, you’d be wrong. None of that is the problem. I’m a problem. My boxing days may be behind me, but the fight never left me. And nothing is going to stand in my way.

Pure entertainment from start to finish
Revisado: 03-13-25
Single mom, Cora Delaney, is content raising her 10-year-old son, Ashton, but decides she’s ready to find someone to settle down with. She’s looking for the perfect, predictable orthodontist and in walks Nolan Cassidy, the former boxer now promoter, charming Irishman and says, ‘hold my beer’. They meet at an airport bar while she’s waiting to check into her hotel and he’s catching a flight out. He misses his flight, and they enjoy an amazing few days while she’s in town for business.
Cora tries to forget him and move on, but fate has different plans, and they meet again in Las Vegas just in time for Valentines Day. They reconnect and wake up married to Cora’s dismay. Nolan has other plans and convinces her to give him one month before they decide on an annulment.
Nolan fitting into Cora’s world is fantastic. The back and forth with her son is hilarious, but it will pull at your heartstrings when they finally connect. Like the rest of this series, the secondary characters are just as entertaining as the main characters. Her nosy neighbors with the solid walls, her best friend with a jersey girl attitude second to none and her parents that constantly confuse celebrities in the cutest way. They follow all this up, with returning characters from the series to help with the most epic grand gesture.
‘You’re gonna need a crew.’
Narrated by Connor Crais and Mackenzie Cartwright in duet. I will not complain whenever I get to hear Connor sing (even if it is about prostitution). He’s flows between characters and accents so seamlessly it’s amazing and brings bigtime swoon to the charming Nolan. Mackenzie was a delight as the understandably controlling Cora, when it comes to her son, but also holds her own with Nolan. She was terrific voicing Ashton as well.
Overall, I absolutely loved this. It’s a series I revisit each year, and it never gets old.

Sometimes all you get is a single chance to turn a surprise into happily ever after… Chance: One night. That’s all I wanted. A single night to forget I’m a widowed single dad with a million responsibilities and a ton of emotional baggage. To remember what it’s like to just be a man. I didn’t need any extra drama in my life. Romantic complications? No thanks. But after that night, everything changed.

Another single dad hit!
Revisado: 03-09-25
I adored Rowan and Chance. They meet at an 80s themed New Years party. Hello! Enough said. That set the tone for the rest of the book. Mad respect for anyone that comes as Lloyd Dobler, how can you resist?
Their meeting leads to one night together and no expectations to see each other until they end up at work together, surprising them both. Then, surprise, Rowan is pregnant. When housing becomes an issue, Chance moves Rowan in with him and his daughter, Sam. These three have all suffered loss and are dealing with it differently. Chance is determined to avoid relationships, and his sole focus is his daughter. Rowan’s grief is more recent, and she shows throughout the book just how strong she is. Sam is struggling as any teenage girl missing her mom would.
I loved that this is not only about Chance and Rowan. The relationship between Chance and his daughter will melt your heart. He is so devoted and it’s downright swoony when he turns that level of devotion to Rowan. However, one of my favorite things was the bond between Rowan and Sam. Rowan turns out to be the bridge that helps Chance navigate the issues that come up with raising a teenage daughter.
Sebastian York and Emma Wilder were perfect in this story. I’m not going to mad anytime Sebastian plays the single dad. He gave us Chance’s protectiveness and frustration over his daughter then the heart and humor dealing with Rowan and the single dad group. Emma Wilder is a delight as Rowan and showing both her strength, playfulness and vulnerability.
Overall, this was a story I didn’t want to end or stop listening to. The backdrop of Dragonfly Lake and all its characters, including Esmeralda, the escape artist llama, and the single dad group just adds to this story. There’s a feel-good epilogue that gives glimpses of what’s next and I can’t wait.

Revisado: 02-23-25
“The night my tattooed bad boy changed my life and made me fall in love.”
I didn’t think I would enjoy anything as much as I did book one of this series. However, I was proven wrong. I couldn’t get enough of Maverick and Sadie’s story. Their first meeting is tense to say the least and later he saves her from an uncomfortable encounter with her ex in a bar. They are photographed together and decide if they play along, the mistake could benefit them both. Let the fake dating begin!
This is so much more than a fake-dating, grumpy / sunshine romance. Sadie is the quiet, conservative beauty, and the perfect foil to baseball’s misunderstood bad boy, Maverick. He needs her help to improve his image after an accident off the field leaving him injured and his contract in jeopardy with the team. This is a slow burn, and I enjoyed that it wasn’t an instalove situation once they start fake dating. These are two people with real trust issues and walls built up and complicated pasts to work through. The more I learned about these two and their pasts, the more I was rooting for them and their HEA. He helped her stand up for herself and blossom. She helped with his trust issues, that led to more camaraderie with his teammates.
This can absolutely be read as a standalone but there are appearances of characters from the previous book that I always appreciate. Plus, it’s a real hoot when he ‘handles’ her ex.
Narrated by Dane Anderson and Heather Firth. Both are new to me, and I really liked their performances. I’ll be sure to look for more from these two.
Overall, this was more emotional than I expected, and I loved it. This is a redemption story with a lot of heart, humor and sense of found family. I can’t wait for the next installment.

I’ve crafted my new life in Ember Falls with two simple rules: maintain superficial relationships and always be ready to run. But when my son’s incredibly hot hockey coach Miles Anderson walks in, things get very, very complicated. With his charming smile and our accidental dates, he’s the exact opposite of any man I’ve ever dated. That should make saying yes to being with him simple, but nothing in my life is easy.

Straight to the top of my favorites from Corinne!
This is my favorite series from Corinne Michaels so far and one of my overall top series because it just keeps getting better.
Penelope is running from a dangerous past and has moved her and her son, Kai, to Ember Falls. She’s now working as a barista and keeping her head down and avoiding meaningful relationships. Enter Miles Anderson and all his swoon factor. Miles is the former marine turned high school principal and overall great guy. He also happens to be her son’s hockey coach for the summer.
I enjoyed seeing characters from the first book and revisiting the captivating world of disc golf. Who knew? This still has all the small town feels with plenty of laughs and heart, but the added suspense factor was terrific. Just enough to keep me riveted to find out Penny’s past and you get to see the protective side of Miles. He may come across as a teddy bear, but he was FIERCE when Penny and Kai were in danger. Penny comes across shy, but she really showed her strength when protecting her son and she loves hard and with her whole heart.
I read this story first and immediately grabbed the audio. This is duet narration by Jason Clarke and Angelina Rocca. It was the best decision I’ve made because these two were incredible. I couldn’t stop listening. Both really brought to life the multiple facets of Miles and Penny. Not to mention, Jason as Kai was adorable.
I can’t recommend this book enough. It was a wildly entertaining ride from start to finish. I can’t wait to go back to Ember Falls.

Single dad swoon and so much more!!!
Revisado: 02-17-25
I could not put this down once I started. Beck and Stella were amazing. This story has everything. Workplace romance, corporate espionage, a spin on the nanny trope, and billionaire unsuspecting single dad.
Beck is a wealthy, single, successful businessman who is totally unprepared when he gains custody of his nieces. Stella is coming off a traumatic breakup, losing her job and struggling to take care of her mom. They share a night of passionate kisses and then Stella finds herself hired at Beck’s company. She also sees another side of him when she gets the call to the Single Dad Hotline.
This story starts out with so much heart and humor and develops into so much more as their pasts come to light. The emotional journey they take as they work through their past traumas and current hang ups is riveting. There's drama brought on by outside forces trying to break up their newly formed family and company. The supporting cast of characters is just as developed and outstanding.
Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais once again solidified why they are one of my absolute favorite duos. Samantha was brilliant as Stella. She gave us her vulnerability when dealing with her past and heartbreak when she's with her mom. Then showed her strength and inner mama bear protecting the girls. I'm not sure there's anything better than Connor as the reluctant, fiercely protective single dad who's not afraid to ask for help and when he loves, he loves hard.
Plus, besides the epilogue, the audio includes a bonus scene that will have you weepy with happy tears.
This was basically more than I expected based on the cover and premise of the book. Like all Avery’s books, it has plenty of heart, humor and characters you root for. However, it’s a beautiful story of the journey of two broken people finding their way to each other through the most trying circumstances and coming out on top. I can’t wait for the next installment.

When grumpy, muscled-up artist Bennett Bishop bothers to speak, it’s usually to say something you’re not ready to hear. When he first speaks to Norah Ellis, a rambling runaway bride who hitchhikes a ride from him, it’s to tell her to get out of his truck and walk because she’s a pain in the a-s-s. By appearance, Norah Ellis is a fancy fashionista who’s spent the last several years living the good life in the city—expensive apartments, highbrow events, and a fiancé with wealth and good looks. The only problem is that she didn’t choose any of it for herself.

‘You don’t find love. Love finds you…’
I originally read this book last year. It was a true standout as one of my favorites of 2024 and I’ve been anxiously waiting for the audio release. It was truly like experiencing the story for the first time. This book still has the same heart, humor and banter that you expect from a Max Monroe romcom, however, the emotional ride they took me on was incredible. They warned us about 'the feelings' and I still was not prepared.
Narrated by Sebastian York and CJ Bloom. I don’t think they could have cast anyone more perfect than these two for this book. The narration is next level! The raw emotion from both was extraordinary, but they manage to leave you laughing and smiling right after. This will be one of the best audios of 2025 for me.
I don't want to spoil anything so simply said...
This is a runaway bride that meets up with the town grump with the most adorable daughter. As always, there is a full cast of characters that only add to the story. It’s a beautiful, emotional story with so much heart and humor. It will wring you and you'll be thankful afterwards. Plus, there’s a fantastic epilogue that will leave you smiling and wanting more.
