This story needs more attention

It is an incredible story about one man's heroic and tragic life. The story takes us into German occupied Italy during World War II and the life of Pino Lella. This book brought out so many emotions and had me on the edge of my seat. When I finished, I was left speechless and pondering humanity.

This was a wonderful book with an extremely difficult and horrible story. I was filled with so many emotions and had to hit the pause button several times just to bring myself out of the nightmare within these pages. My heart goes out to Mella, this innocent little girl, who just wants to love and be loved.
I've recently learned that a sequel is in the works and I am both excited and worried about what kind of journey Angel Van Atta will take us on. One thing is certain, whatever path she takes, I'll be there for it.

I'll be thinking about this book for a long time. This will be my favorite of 2023 and I will recommend this audiobook to anyone looking for a great atmospheric horror. It would be best not to know too much before going into this one. Now, I'm going to look for more of this author's work, enjoy!

I really want a movie version!

I loved everything about this audiobook! The book had just the right amount of scary, but when the narrator does the demon voices... he adds that extra chill factor. Very interesting story and good character development throughout the entire book. I loved Anathema just as much and can't wait for the next one.
