The misuse of the word world
Revisado: 10-30-24
The author uses the word world in place of universe constantly and I found that frustrating. The back and forth of how a C grade could be a god in some descriptions and then cannon fodder in another is confusing. Not if you don't pay to much attention to all the contradictions and all that the story can be fun. 3 stars.

Being concerned about his people on the outside, Derek chose to rule with an iron fist to finish the dungeon as soon as possible. Won't keep going
Revisado: 06-22-24
this is the last book in the series that I'm going to listen to. there were just too many things that didn't make sense to me. like how somewhere in the middle of the story, even though Jack is killed. who knows how many people, he has some existential crisis about how he's going to have to kill one person. this person is an enemy and I thought it was just as crazy as the first book when after he had slaughtered so many goblins that he was worried the next day he was going to have to go out and kill more. also things like saying the cyclops 's EYES, plural, were crying is just one example of mini where I had to pause and just say, "wait what?" I would have just passed it off as a random error either by the author or the person reading the story, but things like that happen so often that I feel like the editing process is lacking. and I get there's not a lot of time. the way this kind of story is being written, but I listen to a lot of athon audiobooks and this kind of stuff doesn't happen in any of those.
those and many other reasons are why I'm stopping with this series.

Poor beginning and end
Revisado: 03-08-24
At the beginning of the story, the main character didn't make any sense to me. Example, in one moment he is struggling with the idea of killing a rabbit so he can eat it and survive. The very next day he goes out and slaughters goblins and seemingly enjoys it. He seems to have, all life is sacred moments, but then he just goes off on a tirade killing goblins and beasts or whatever. It doesn't make any sense.
At the end of the book, he goes through multiple sessions or times where he keeps leveling up where, and the weather riding is done. you're made to believe that he can now compete against the big bad, but then you're just served another moment of it's, "not enough". if the big bad was so much more powerful for all these individuals, steps happened during their confrontation, and his whole personality is based on supremacy, then why wouldn't he have just absolutely trounced the main character at the beginning and moved on with his day?
There we're just things with the writing that didn't make any sense to me at the beginning and the end of the story. The middle was pretty good. not sure if I'll keep going.

Earth also still calls. There, he helps friends deal with family issues by going on a nice road trip with Carmen and Sylphie. Another great installment
Revisado: 12-04-23
This books was just a good a time as any of the others. My only dislike was that a lot of the small characters sound the same or similar to ones from earlier books. But once you get to this many chapters that's probably not too avoidable with one person doing it all. So, not really that big of an issue.

Historia
House Gracefall wasn’t anything like what Derek had imagined it would be. Instead of rage and anger at the loss of one of their young masters, House Gracefall showed humility and even apologized. Despite one noble house exemplifying honor and nobility, another awaited to reinforce the negative stereotypes that Derek had been anticipating all along. Somehow, out of all that, Derek made a new friend, a new business partner, and learned some secrets, while Silvi got her first taste of the real world of cooking and loved it.

Loving this series
Revisado: 07-13-23
The first three books in this series have been great. I think it does a great job of balancing the main character's plot while also peppering in supporting character development, and the whole thing is a fun ride. I will preorder the next book as soon as I see it available.

Nothing ever happened
Revisado: 05-13-23
I don't think anything ever actually happened. I mean a lot of things occurred, there was action, but the entire book was either unresolved mystery or just set up for something else. I'm not sure there's a chapter, after the first few of introduction, that you couldn't remove from this book and have just kept going.
the performance was great. I had no issues with that but the only reason to keep going in this series, as far as I am concerned, would be to find out who ordered his training and why. What was the purpose? Honestly, I am not compelled enough by that to keep going. I'm sure I can just Google that one day.
