You don’t find many too-pretty rich boys in the New Zealand Defense Force. Turns out there’s a reason for that. Fortunately, you can find your true self in the oddest places. Of course, you can lose yourself in those places, too - at least some pieces of you. Since I was back home with a new leg, some facial alterations, and time on my hands, I might as well help out my sister. Showing a buyer around New Zealand’s ecotourism sites, having a few adrenaline-fueled adventures? Fine. It wasn’t like I’d never been camping, unlike the walking tornado that was Miss Karen Sinclair.

A Story full of Emotions!

"I may have lost my leg. I may have lost my job. I didn't have to lose my courage.
You don’t find many too-pretty rich boys in the New Zealand Defence Force. Turns out there’s a reason for that. Fortunately, you can find your true self in the oddest places. Of course, you can lose yourself in those places, too—at least some pieces of you.
Since I was back home with a new leg, some facial alterations, and time on my hands, I might as well help out my sister. Showing a potential buyer around some of New Zealand’s quirkier ecotourism sites, having a few adrenaline-fueled adventures? Fine. It wasn’t like I’d never been camping, unlike the walking tornado that was Miss Karen Sinclair. Unfortunately, Karen had never heard of the phrase, “Let me get that,” let alone, “We don’t have time.” She’d definitely never heard, “There’s no more room in the car.”
And then there was the sexual frustration."
Just by reading this I knew this story was going to pull at my emotions. When we first met Karen in Ms. James "Not Quite a Billionaire series". She has overcome many obstacles in that series and now she finally gets her ever after!
You have to listen to this story. You will definitely not be disappointed!
I love Emma Wilder as a narrator; she does an amazing job in capturing each character's emotions.
I can't wait to see what more Rosalind has in this new series!!

Rhys Fletcher is not in love with his sister-in-law. That would be a very, very bad idea, and he doesn’t entertain bad ideas. He also doesn’t lie to himself. Both of those things can’t be true, so he’ll do what he’s done since the long-ago night when his brother, Dylan, turned up in an Auckland bar after a brutal rugby match between their two teams, and introduced his new girlfriend - a dark-eyed, much-too-young girl named Zora. He’ll lie. Now, his brother’s gone, and Rhys is back in New Zealand and settling into his new job as the head coach of the Auckland Blues

"Rhys Fletcher is not in love with his sister-in-law.
That would be a very, very bad idea, and he doesn’t entertain bad ideas. He also doesn’t lie to himself.
Both of those things can’t be true, so he’ll do what he’s done since the long-ago night when his brother, Dylan, turned up in an Auckland bar after a brutal rugby match between their two teams, and introduced his new girlfriend—a dark-eyed, impossibly short, much-too-young girl named Zora.
He’ll lie.
Now, his brother’s gone, and Rhys is back in New Zealand and settling into his new job as the head coach of the Auckland Blues. Surely, being there for Dylan’s widow and their son is the right thing to do. He can control himself. He’s had forty years of practice. Until he gets a call from his lawyer, and flies to the States to find that handsome, charming, endlessly irresponsible Dylan has left yet another loose end for his big brother to sort out.
This one is six years old. And her birth certificate says she belongs to Rhys."
From reading the synopsis you know there is going to be some sort of drama in this story. Rosalind James does not disappoint! I have listened to every single one of her stories and can't get enough of her Escape to New Zealand series. She brings each character from her stories to life and you get feel the emotions of the characters on each page.
Emma Wilder does an amazing job in getting the emotions of each character in this story.
Love this story!! Can't wait to see who is next in this series!

Brett Hunter’s life isn’t unicorns and rainbows, and it sure isn’t sparkles. He’s a businessman, a disciplined man, a money man, and if he ever believed in magic, it was a long time ago. He’s not a hero, and he doesn't play one on TV. Oh, and he really doesn't like the water. What’s he doing, then, on an Australian beach in a custom-made Italian suit, up to his waist in the waves and helping a red-haired mermaid save the day?

What’s he doing, then, on an Australian beach in a custom-made Italian suit, up to his waist in the waves and helping a red-haired mermaid save the day?
No matter how crazy his life gets, not being in control isn’t an option, and neither is veering from his path or falling for mermaids.
Just from looking at the synopsis you know that Rosalind James created a great book. Brett was a secondary character is the other Sinful books and was hoping Ms. James would create a story for just him. She did disappointment!
I loved listening about Brett and Willow; She was able to bring him out of his suits and not to be so disciplined when it comes to work. This story has everything: handsome sexy hero; strong, fun heroine who sees the best in everything; sweet romance and human drama; humor, tears, and incredible settings.
This is a fabulous story that stands on its own, but if you start with this one, you'll want to go back and listen to the rest of the series, too. Then listen to everything else Rosalind has written.
This story can be read as a standalone, but it is best to read the rest of the series.

Rafe Blackstone may play the sexiest werewolf superhero to ever melt a woman's...heart...on the big screen, but Lily Hollander has already been bitten once by an actor, and once was enough. Tempting as Sin with a dash of Sweetness!
Revisado: 07-27-18
This is the second book in the Sinful, Montana series by Rosalind James. It can be listened by itself. but I definitely recommend listening to the first book!
"Once bitten, twice shy.
Rafe Blackstone may play the sexiest werewolf superhero to ever melt a woman’s...heart...on the big screen, but Lily Hollander has already been bitten once by an actor, and once was enough. When she’s fooled all over again, it’s time to put that wayward heart in lockdown mode, especially once Rafe starts aiming his overprotective streak at her identical twin. Lily may seem like the softer side of the twinship, but nobody messes with her sister.
There’s nothing she can do about Rafe being her temporary neighbor in the mountains above Sinful, Montana, or about being forced to witness the least impressive feats of horsemanship known to man. That doesn’t mean she has to let him into her lingerie store, her heart, or any other part of her anatomy. He can just take his silver-blue wolf eyes, his rueful smile, and the rest of his gorgeous self, and...Wait, where was she again?"
Just from the synopsis you can tell that there is going to be some heated arguments between the characters.
I loved Rafe and Lily's chemistry throughout this story. This story is very different from the first: in the first book you got action and trying to figure out who did what and in this book you get more of the drama in a story line. In this story without getting into to much detail and spoiling it; you meet Rafe Blackstone heading to SF to meet his brother and future sister-in-law. He stops at a hotel to get out of the rain and he meets a lady at the bar(who we later find out is Lily). They have a good night drinking and heading to a Karaoke where they both perform. Rafe doesn't want the night to end but Lily decides they are going to fast and calls it a night. The next morning Rafe heads to his brother's house and sees Lily there he believes that Lily was actually Paige (his brother's girlfriend) and tries to get rid of her until his brother and Paige show up after a run. Rafe sees his mistake but it is too late and Lily thinks the worst of him since he is an actor like her ex husband who was the worst of worst.
Rafe wants to make everything right but knows he has to go slowly with Lily to earn her trust.
That is all I am going to say...you just have to believe that each story Rosalind James writes is amazing and shows how she is able to create a story that make you root for the good guy to get their happy ever after!
Emma Wilder does an amazing job in capturing each character and making them unique.

Marko Sendoa isn't a beach man. He's not an Auckland man. He's a hard man. Born Basque, raised in the heart of New Zealand's Southern Alps, and bred on hard work, discipline, and getting the job done. It's not easy for a rugby flanker to make it to age 32 at the top of his game, but he's done it. Next year is the Rugby World Cup, and he'll do whatever it takes to be on the field in the black jersey when the anthems are sung. He doesn't need a kitten. He doesn't need a pregnant cousin. He definitely doesn't need a too-short, distractingly curvy, totally unimpressed Maori barista.

Just Say (Hell) YES!!!
Revisado: 04-16-18
"Even a hard man needs a soft side." <- just by that first line in the synopsis you know this going to be a great story to listen too!
"Marko Sendoa isn’t a beach man. He’s not an Auckland man. He’s a hard man. Born Basque tough, raised in the heart of New Zealand’s Southern Alps, and bred on hard work, discipline, and getting the job done. It’s not easy for a rugby flanker who’s played 13 bruising seasons to make it to age 32 at the top of his game, but he’s done it. Next year is the Rugby World Cup, and he’ll do whatever it takes to be on the field in the black jersey when the anthems are sung.
He doesn't need a kitten.
He doesn't need a pregnant cousin.
He definitely doesn't need a too-short, distractingly curvy, totally unimpressed Maori barista and part-time pet portraitist who fills his house and his life with too much color, too much chaos, and too many secrets.
He’s getting them anyway."
Just by reading the synopsis I was hooked on this book. Listening to the story is also no different. I loved how the narrator was able to capture each character and bring them to life.
I have read every one of Rosalind James' Escape to New Zealand books and have fallen in love which each of these characters. Marko was a great new addition to all of the rugby players in the Escape to New Zealand stories. He is the perfect combination of sweet and tough character that Ms. James writes about. Nyree was to me a breath of fresh air. She is the complete opposite of Marko and that in my opinion made me love them more.
I also loved the secondary character of Marko's cousin Ella who shows up one day at his house for his help.(I won't say any more other than you need to listen to this book!) I really hope to see a more of them in the next book of the series.
This book dealt with some really deep and bittersweet topics that made you feel like you were experiencing it with them.
I loved how Emma was able to make each character have their own personality.
This book can be read as a stand alone in my opinion, however, I would strongly recommend listening to the series from the beginning. You will not be disappointed!!

But Lily's run into trouble, and Paige is on leave from the SFPD, recovering from a traumatic shooting. It's not like she has anything better to do, and she remembers how to be feminine. Sort of. Guilty as Sin with some Double the Trouble...
Revisado: 12-26-17
The story starts with identical twins Paige and Lily relaxing at a getaway spa. Lily is telling Paige of her trouble with a developer wanting to buy her land for a resort. Paige gets the idea to switch places since she is on leave from SFPD due to a taumatic shooting. The thing is that Lily sells lingerie at her store Sinful Secrets and Paige thinks how hard can it be if she can remember to be feminine.
While Paige gets the layout of Sinful, Montana from Lily she does mention her only other neighbor is a recluse that doesn't speak to her.
Jace Blackstone is a reclusive, black-haired stranger with an Aussie accent and a bad attitude. When he sees Paige he does notice that she isn't the same neighbor that he see on his morning walks. When he speaks to Paige for the first time her personality change knocks him sideways. To the point that he wants to get to know more of neighbor.
Not to mention he is a former Australia's special forces, and a bestselling thriller writer.
Things start to happen to him when he receives some mail from a mystery fan that is much too up-close and personal.
Jace at first thinks its Lily(AKA Paige) that sent him the mail until he confronts her and realize that he is wrong.
Without getting to much into the story you will just have to listen to it for yourself. BUT.....
This story has so many twist and turns that will keep you guess who the Mystery fan is until the very end!!

A Sweet Second Chance at Love!
Revisado: 08-29-17
Any additional comments?
No Kind of Hero is a story where you can get your second chance at love. I have read and listened to all of Rosalind James books, and this is one of my favorites in the Idaho series. I will always love reading the Escape to New Zealand ones too.
Evan O’Donnell is definitely the strong, silent type of man that would have a weakness of helping a woman who needs him to be the strong one for both of them.
Beth Schaefer is a lawyer on her way to becoming a partner in her Law Firm. She also just lost a case and wants to take a break from the stress. She decides to head home to Wild Horse, Idaho to have her breakdown.
When she is there she meets again with an old flame Evan and his adorable baby daughter Gracie.
Nine years ago, her parents convinced her to give him up, and he’s had enough of snobs and women who don’t stick.
When Gracie's mom just left when she was three weeks old and Evan had to be able to support himself and a newborn. He has enough on his plate to not add a complication. Evan’s a typically blue-collar guy from his too-broad shoulders to his scuffed work boots, and he’s nobody’s white knight, at least that is what he thinks. There is still that strong connection when you listen this story between Beth and Evan that you hope they get their second chance at love. You won't be disappointed!

Some fires warm you up. And some burn you down. Kevin McNicholl may be a brutal force on the rugby field, but off the field, the star New Zealand All Black is a famously nice guy. His new tenant, though, arouses more than his protective side. She sets him on fire. Pity he’s evicting her. Every woman deserves her dreams. Her new landlord is kicking her out, along with her three-year-old son, Zavy. She should hate him. But when a man looks at you like that, it’s so easy to lose your focus.
That is just the synopsis.
Rosalind James does it again with this book. I have been waiting for Kevin's story since he was first introduced in Book 1 Escape to New Zealand!
This story does not disappoint. She is able to tell the story of "Real Women and Real Men" which is also part of her slogan.
We got to see a side to Kevin that was more than the good guy that we have read about from the other stories, but the side to him that stands up for what is right.
I loved reading about Kevin, Chloe and Zavy and how they become a family with all the ups and downs they get through.
I hope this isn't the last story of the Series. This series is one of the best and its not just for the rugby men lol but also for the scenery of New Zealand.
This story is definitely recommended to those to want to escape and read about a couple who finds loves when they least expect it!

Where does Take Me Back rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Take Me Back was ranked in the top 5 among other audiobooks that I have listened to.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character in this story would have to be Hallie because she has a lot of people hoping she would fail with listening to the guidelines in her Father's will.
Any additional comments?
I loved how Rosalind James creates women in all of her book to be strong, and independent to show that not all women need to be rescued by a man. This story had many twist and turns that you couldn't figure out who was the villain that was threatening Hallie. I really don't listen to a lot of mysteries, but this one story hooked me.

There's that phrase, though. "How's that working out for you?" The answer, when it came to Hope Sinclair, was, "not so well". She might be little, she might be sweet, and she might be young, but if I'd thought she'd be compliant anywhere but in bed, I'd learned my lesson. To keep her, I had to let her go. To hold her, I had to turn her loose. To have her in my life, I had to accept that she was 9,000 miles away in New Zealand.

Great Conclusion to an Amazing Story!
Revisado: 03-01-17
What about Emma Wilder’s performance did you like?
I liked that Emma was able to bring each character to life in this series.
Any additional comments?
Found is the final story in the three part "Not Quite A Billionaire" series of Hope and Hemi's story which started in Fierce and Fractured. This was my favorite of three! We really got to see Hope and Hemi find their way and develop their relationship on a deeper level. They finally found the balance between themselves to really make things work. This story moved quickly and I liked the way the characters interacted with each other and were able to grow. I loved how none of the characters became lesser versions of themselves and that Rosalind was able to make the characters realistic.
I first read Rosalind's Escape to New Zealand series and fell in loved with those characters. I am happy that she brought another story to New Zealand and made me fall in love with these characters also. I am sad that Hemi and Hope story ended but glad that I was able to listen to them again.
