Historia
In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.

Secret Service agent Clint Hill brings history intimately and vividly to life as he reflects on his 17 years protecting the most powerful office in the nation. Hill walked alongside Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard M. Nixon, and Gerald R. Ford, seeing them through a long, tumultuous era - the Cold War; the Cuban Missile Crisis; the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Robert F. Kennedy; the Vietnam War; Watergate; and the resignations of Spiro Agnew and Richard M. Nixon.

Lisbeth Salander
Revisado: 05-03-18
I loved Stieg Larsson's trilogy on Lisbeth Salander because I loved the character he created. I never wanted his books to end.
I don't think David Lagercrantz uses Lisbeth Salander as well as the creator, but I can't get enough. I have to know what she's doing. I would think it's hard to pick up the fifth book; you are not as engaged with the characters.
The performance is terrific.

My daughter, the scientist, asked me, the non-scientist, to read this book. My daughter saw the book on Bill Gates' reading list.
I must say I wasn't anxious to read it, but I am very grateful that I did. I looked at the book in the book store, and I knew that audio was the only option for me.
Shortly after I completed the book, I was diagnosed with cancer. I must say that the background that I obtained from this book has served me well. Physicians are surprised that I understand various treatment options.

How Wallis wasted her life...
Revisado: 05-03-18
I didn't know what to expect with this book; I was hooked from the beginning. I feel this book should be mandated reading for young people obsessed with social media. Look where all Wallis' social climbing got her; she lived an empty lie.
I thought the narrator did a wonderful job. I enjoyed her Wallis' voice.
The true story is unbelievable. I thought the author summed it up when he said the British people dodged a bullet when David abdicated for Wallis who really loved Herman.

The Poor Sequel
Revisado: 04-22-18
Is there anything you would change about this book?
It just didn't have the same passion as the first book, The Rosie Project.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Don's friends were interesting characters, but this book made Rosie a shrew. I didn't like the change in Rosie's character from the first to the second book. I don't think pregnancy and such would have done this.
Which character – as performed by Dan O'Grady – was your favorite?
Don
Could you see The Rosie Effect being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Fun and Different
Revisado: 04-22-18
What made the experience of listening to The Rosie Project the most enjoyable?
This was one of Bill and Melinda Gates' recommendations, so I was curious. I really enjoyed the book. It was fun.
What other book might you compare The Rosie Project to and why?
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
What does Dan O'Grady bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I think the Australian accent was very important.
If you could rename The Rosie Project, what would you call it?

The Reader's Digest Version
Revisado: 08-20-17
Where does The Day the World Went Nuclear rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I didn't realize that this was almost an excerpt from Killing the Rising Sun: How America Vanquished World War II Japan. Having reading Killing the Rising Sun and American Prometheus, this was just review.
What did you like best about this story?
I found it interesting that Paul Tibbets Jr. named the plane after his mother, but the plane had been named and flown by another. I didn't know that Paul Tibbets Jr. didn't make the second flight because he wanted another to have the glory.
What does Robert Petkoff bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I enjoyed the voice.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It was easy to listen to in one sitting.

Historia
J. Robert Oppenheimer was one of the iconic figures of the 20th century, a brilliant physicist who led the effort to build the atomic bomb but later confronted the moral consequences of scientific progress. When he proposed international controls over atomic materials, opposed the development of the hydrogen bomb, and criticized plans for a nuclear war, his ideas were anathema to powerful advocates of a massive nuclear buildup during the anti-Communist hysteria of the early 1950s.

What a life!
Revisado: 08-20-17
Would you consider the audio edition of American Prometheus to be better than the print version?
Yes, I got bogged down in the print version.
Who was your favorite character and why?
J. Robert Oppenheimer, of course, he was the central character; the reason I wanted to hear the book.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
So many things about the book shocked me. I just couldn't believe that this man would risk affairs given security issues. I couldn't believe the unjust way this man was treated.
Any additional comments?
J. Robert Oppenheimer's burial was very interesting.
