Usually Not My Cup of Tea
Revisado: 03-20-25
At nearly seventy years I have read thousands of books from the ancient classics, modern classics, every genre, and finally decided to read modern stories of today's world. Finally received my degree in 2015, where I met Dr. Martha Michieka a professor at ETSU who introduced me to a wonderful world of literature from Africa.
Because of my introduction to literature from Africa, I began to seek more novels and short stories from all over our wonderful planet. The Magnificent Ruins is window where I could look and learn about people and places I had never been able to vivo first hand. Love the story and the charismatic people I learned to love and dislike.
Looking for another novel by Nayantara Roy to listen to while I work on various projects for my grandchildren. Thank you.

Historia
The Catenan Republic—the Hierarchy—may rule the world now, but they do not know everything. I tell them my name is Vis Telimus. I tell them I was orphaned after a tragic accident three years ago, and that good fortune alone has led to my acceptance into their most prestigious school. I tell them that once I graduate, I will gladly join the rest of civilized society in allowing my strength, my drive, and my focus—what they call Will—to be leeched away and added to the power of those above me, as millions already do. As all must eventually do.

Twenty-five years after the end of the war, Noah Ainsworth is still preoccupied with those perilous, exhilarating years as a British SOE operative in France. A head injury sustained on his final operation has caused frustrating gaps in his memory—in particular about the agent who saved his life during that mission gone wrong, whose real name he never knew, nor whether she even survived the war.

Historia
Still reeling from the sudden death of her mother, Jess is about to do the hardest thing she's ever done: empty her childhood home so that it can be sold. As she sorts through a lifetime of memories, everything comes to a halt when she comes across something she just can’t part with: an old set of encyclopedias. To the world, the books are outdated and ready to be recycled. To Jess, they represent love and the future that her mother always wanted her to have.

Memories Flooding Forth
Revisado: 12-08-23
Recently, I began cataloging my library which has been in storage for three and a half years hidden from my eyes. When I downloaded THE MUSEUM OF ORDINARY PEOPLE a wealth of memories were to be awaken. Times I had enjoyed with aunts and uncles both near and grand remembering the stories told and objects associated with each cherished relative and friend.
I am blessed to have been privileged to have known so many people who have touched my life. Now I can add yet another memory thanks to author Mike Gayle and narrator Witney White. Many thanks for being a catalyst and blessing during a dark time revealing like minded folks who believe a life is found in ordinary possessions if one cares to find the connection.
THE MUSEUM OF ORDINARY PEOPLE is definitely a worthwhile read.
