Historia
Fourteen-year-old Gina Martin is a straight-A student and a bit of an introvert with no real interest in boys or a social life outside of a few close friends…until the 10th anniversary of the mysterious death of her father, when she is drawn to the eerie old park where he used to take her, and its scary, crumbling old tower. Inside, she accidentally discovers a portal that delivers her to the 1700s, where she eventually meets Philip, a young Noble who has been tasked with settling Spain’s “La Florida” territory.

Sweet story/Great Pallet cleanser
Revisado: 10-07-24
Loved the method of time travel. This was definitely a young adult book but still enjoyable for us older adults! It also had little touches of Florida History which made me want to correlate the book and what events were actual.

But the mother keeps getting letters from the daughter saying, "Don’t worry, and don’t look for me." They are in the deceased girl’s handwriting and there’s even a DNA match - but the body at the morgue is definitely her.

Unpredictable ending
Revisado: 10-02-24
The story was really great! Psychologically Thillers have always been my favorite genre. I happened to stumble across this author on TikTok and boy am I glad. This is the 2nd book of his I have read so far but I have added several to my wishlist. He is so good at being descriptive but not so much that you are yawing…lol. I just love his style of storytelling .
I am usually good at predicting things but I was so off on this one! I was truly surprised at the twists in this book! I highly recommend this book!

Two detectives hunt a serial killer. The killer's hunting them. A lone trucker is ambushed, shot, and brutally stabbed. A tourist meets the same fate while out for a jog. Facing two crime scenes that could have come from a horror movie, Detectives Carly Sanderson and Sergio Martin search for the crazed serial killer. Five more attacks happen in a week, launching the entire city into a panic and causing the mayor to throw all of the city’s resources into stopping the rampage.

Kept me on the edge of my seat
Revisado: 09-29-24
This was a good story! I struggled a bit with the gory scenes but I always do. I love how things all came together. Too many characters IMO but it was definitely worth the listen! I really had a hard time at first getting into the book because the narrator. Her voice just grated on my nerves and she didn’t switch from character voices very well. They all sounded the same. The story was well written and I also loved that the author left a little hint in one of the scenes that tells the occupation of the killer. I am curious of how many people caught that. Leave me a comment if you did!

Loved this series
Revisado: 09-15-24
Love the Magic and the characters. I love slow burn romances and I don’t enjoy super spicy, I had enough spice for you to know the romance was true love! The story was awesome and the world, the characters and their magic were like no other. This may be one of my favorite series and yes I am a fan of Sarah Maas. I tried to find another series by this author but found none :(

My first fantasy Novel!
Revisado: 08-01-24
The closest I have come to fantasy books is the chronicles of Narnia. I have heard so much about this book on booktok and most recently on my favorite podcast Morbid I decided to to listen to it as they had talked about it being on audible. I usually only listen to psychological thrillers and an occasional “good novel”. I am hooked now! I loved this story! I loved the strong female main character! I must read more!!!

Historia
Patrick, or Gay Uncle Patrick (GUP, for short), has always loved his niece, Maisie, and nephew, Grant. That is, he loves spending time with them when they come out to Palm Springs for weeklong visits, or when he heads home to Connecticut for the holidays. But in terms of caretaking and relating to two children, no matter how adorable, Patrick is, honestly, overwhelmed. So when tragedy strikes and Maisie and Grant lose their mother and Patrick's brother has a health crisis of his own, Patrick finds himself suddenly taking on the role of primary guardian.

Times have changed
Revisado: 07-17-24
I was a young child during the Vietnam war times. I was 11 yrs old when it ended. I grew up without a television so I never learned how bad veterans were treated. We were always taught patriotism in my family. As I got older I learned how vets were treated but the women were never mentioned. Actually I think the WWII women have received more attention than the Vietnam women. This book was educational in that area. The story was good but a bit of a let down in some areas. I really wanted good things for the main character. The only reason it’s not a 5 star is because I am a romantic at heart and I needed some permanently good things for her and it was just too many disappointments for me personally! It was definitely worth the read. I liked the nightingale better!

Historia
Now reduced to a schoolyard chant, the Hope family murders shocked the Maine coast one bloody night in 1929. While most people assume seventeen-year-old Lenora was responsible, the police were never able to prove it. Other than her denial after the killings, she has never spoken publicly about that night, nor has she set foot outside Hope’s End, the cliffside mansion where the massacre occurred.
