The only issue I had with the story was that it ended. I was originally slightly apprehensive about Michael Sheen as a narrator, having been spoiled by Pullman and an original cast with the first books. Never fear, though, his narration is spot on! The story, which introduces new characters and visits with ones readers will be familiar with from the original trilogy, centers around Malcolm Polstead, his canoe, La Belle Sauvage and his mission to protect baby Lyra. It’s wonderful. Just what I expected from Pullman. I highly recommend!

The story of the groundling known as Number 13 is a delight for all ages. It’s a coming of age story about discovery. Discovering friends, discovering courage and discovering ones voice. The narration of Simon Vance is superb and really gives voice to the characters. It’s a quick listen and I highly recommend it.

This pairing of the first two novels of the Pirates! series is super funny! Pirate captain with his glorious beard and love of ham and his rag tag crew of pirates get themselves into the most hilarious situations (i.e adventures)! I found myself chuckling out loud at some things they got up to. Thoroughly enjoyable listen even if it does get a little silly. John Lee does an awesome job narrating, Fingers crossed that he does the other books in this series as well!

I really enjoyed this book! The story is well done and the characters are well developed. What really sets this audiobook apart is the narration. Katherine Kellgren really puts you in the middle of all the action, its like your right there in the mix with the characters! I don't know if I would have enjoyed this as much if I had just straight read it, she has a way of conveying whats happening on the page and bringing it to life! The book itself has a good story and some great plot twists, all in all this is a great book for kids and adults. Be warned though, there is a cliffhanger at the end! I recommend getting the second book as well!

I love this book! Its a series of vignettes of the lives of women in Cranford. I first decided to listen to this when they announced that it was coming to masterpiece classic, and while i thoroughly enjoyed the show, the book is so much better. Even after so many listens, I still crack up at the antics of some of the characters. Prunella Scales does a wonderful narration and Mrs Gaskell does a great job making the everyday lives of Victiorian women entertaining. I would recommend this to those who enjoy the novels of Georgette Heyer and are looking for something similar yet different.

Like the other reviews state, this is a fairy tale for adults, and a darn good one too! I usually avoid books narrated by their authors but Gaiman is one of a few (I can count them on one hand) authors whom I enjoy listening to. This was my first title by him and I groaned when I saw that he was narrating it (I have been burned by author narrations before!) but now I cant really imagine anyone else narrating it. He just does such a great job! The story is well thought out, you get a bit of everything-romance, adventure, magic, humor, etc, and all the characters are well developed. Its a pretty short listen, but packs a good punch. Add me to the Neil Gaiman fan club!
