Like nothing you've read before.
Revisado: 03-17-25
I don't often write reviews but this trilogy is one of the best stories I have ever read. I've read and listened to them three times in the past year and I was enthralled each time. Dawson Sabar, an unforgettable woman, is so complex and interesting. I think if she were a real person, it would take years to know her. I liked her, I rooted for her, I respected her, but she was so frustratingly stubborn.
The humor and characters prevented this from being your average book centered on warring of some kind. The action, again the complex characters, and the fascinating settings saved it from being just another romance novel. You will love Ryon, Hector and so many more. Ezra and Salem will have you laughing out loud. Baltise will fascinate you.
Rarely has a reader been so perfect for a book. Not since 'House of Hollow' have I heard such a perfect voice. She made it all so interesting. I will always be happy reading this set of books but a good reader can really add to a story. I recommend you read this trilogy. It's so worthy, I'm ordering hard copies so I can loan them out.

Finally, after years of waiting!
Revisado: 06-19-24
I have been enjoying and rereading this series for years. The books are fun and interesting and unlike anything I've read before. The characters are intelligent, interesting, funny and, in some cases, maddening. It's sci-fi but the bits of science necessary to the story are easy to understand and interesting. This is a thought-provoking set of books but there is absolutely nothing that even the most diligent parent could find objectionable. I will definitely be gifting this set to each of my grandchildren this year.
About the performer, as you may know, they can make or break even the best of stories. Luckily, in Amanda Berry, they found one of the most talented performers out there. Well done, Ms. Berry. I love the entire series and highly recommend it.

Historia
Iris Hollow and her two older sisters are unquestionably strange. Ever since they disappeared on a suburban street in Scotland as children only to return a month a later with no memory of what happened to them, odd, eerie occurrences seem to follow in their wake. And they're changing. First, their dark hair turned white. Then, their blue eyes slowly turned black. They have insatiable appetites yet never gain weight. People find them disturbingly intoxicating, unbearably beautiful, and inexplicably dangerous.

So good, I had to buy hard-copies to share

This is so well-written and performed so well that it instantly became one of my favorites. I found it impossible to put down. I'm not young, a senior actually, but I think this book is for any age. Enjoy and share. A fun, interesting read.

Historia
For Franny, the end of everything is just the beginning of her adventure. The world as we know it is no more. Cities are mobile. Electricity is rare. Reading is a relic of the past. After an explosive encounter with a mysterious stranger, Franny, a 14-year-old orphan girl, embarks on an epic quest to find the mysterious pilots who steer the cities, hoping that if she finds them, she will get answers about her family's past - and the world's future.

I loved this story so much
Revisado: 02-28-21
This is one of the most interesting and unusual stories I've ever heard. The character Francis is incredibly brave and I was in awe of her ability to persevere through her ugly, uncaring world while remembering the lessons she'd been so lovingly taught. I'll admit I look for odd books with uncommon stories and this one certainly fits. I'd recommend it to anyone willing to read something that's not already on the best-selling list. I'll never forget this girl, this world, or Ken Lui.
