Any additional comments?
Esho St. Clair is a man I want to hear a lot more about. Scott Roche has created a character I care about and who has some very special talents. His detective skills are second only to his supernatural abilities, which makes for some very interesting cases!
Roche's lyrical prose and David Robison's amazing talent for voices meld to make a complete world in my head. This book is definitely a "one-sitting" listen. I am eagerly anticipating more from both author and narrator.

Brian McClellan Scores Another Five!
Revisado: 03-07-15
Any additional comments?
The Autumn Republic was an amazing end to the Powder Mage Trilogy. McClellan's ability to write battle sequences is awe-inspiring and his characters are full and interesting. This story pulled together many plot threads explored in the previous two books and brought the action to a satisfying finish.
The world and the magic system are complex and intriguing and I hope there are more stories to tell here.

US Navy SEAL Jim Schweitzer is a consummate professional, a fierce warrior, and a hard man to kill. But when he sees something he was never meant to see on a covert mission gone bad, he finds himself--and his family--in the crosshairs. Nothing means more to Jim than protecting his loved ones, but when the enemy brings the battle to his front door, he is overwhelmed and taken down. That should be the end of the story.

A Fantastic New Tale from Myke Cole
Revisado: 03-07-15
Any additional comments?
I loved Cole's newest story in his magical universe. The characters were compelling and the love story was honest and heartbreaking. In a world where magic meets military, the horrors of war are even more terrible and the costs are much higher. The story has a complete arc while leaving us knowing that there is more to tell. Korey Jackson's performance is amazing - giving us an "everyman" voice that evokes all of the fear, frustration and love that Cole has written in this novel.
This was a fast listen because the story was so compelling. Highly recommended!

More Brilliance from Ann Leckie
Revisado: 03-07-15
Any additional comments?
Leckie's follow up to Ancillary Justice is a great listen with more political intrigue, action and complex characters. The continued story of the rich universe she has created made me want to finish the book quickly. Although the story continues on, this book had enough plot threads resolved to satisfy me and feel like I got a complete story while leaving me with enough questions to anticipate the next book.
The narrator was different from Ancillary Justice and I honestly didn't like her quite as much. I think some of the accents she used, although really good, were a little harder to understand in places. I found that some of the voices she used gave me a sense of the gender of the character - which may or may not have been the ones I would have identified and which I think was Leckie's point in writing her story.

A Great Story for All Ages
Revisado: 01-31-15
What does Rish Outfield bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Rish's narration is amazing! His ability to create multiple voices adds another level of enjoyment to the story. I will definitely look for other works narrated by Rish.
Any additional comments?
Hilton has created a fantastical world of sentient animals struggling to maintain a balance of power. It is an epic coming of age story with lush description, exciting action and moments of laughter, fear, sadness and joy. Truly a book for all ages, this one comes highly recommended.

It's no secret I loved Secret Things
Revisado: 11-16-14
What other book might you compare Secret Things to and why?
Secret Things is an excellent companion to the Cowry Catchers series. The back stories of several important characters are fascinating and provide added insight to events in Cowry Catchers.
What does Abigail Hilton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I love the narration in these stories - it is always great to have varied voices within a story. The music is also really good and adds so much to the listening experience.
I always enjoy "Author's Notes" with any book because it is interesting to know more about the creating of the stories. In this case, it is also great to get information on where these stories fit in the timeline of the Cowry Catchers series.
Any additional comments?
The sequence of the stories was very effective. The final story provided a climactic finish that left me "fist bumping" the air! Now I know how it all began.....
I look forward to more stories from the world of Panamindorah.

Great insights into a completely different world
Revisado: 11-04-14
Have you listened to any of Abigail Hilton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Crossroads is a great companion to Abigail Hilton's Panamindorah series (both of them). It offers more depth to characters you may have already met, or provides interest to pursue more of characters you don't know...
I haven't read Pirates of Panamindorah, but was intrigued by the characters from that series and now want to follow up.
Any information about Sylvio (from Cowry Catchers) is always interesting because he is such a complex character.
The production quality is excellent, with a variety of narrators and beautiful music to accompany the stories.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Always love to know more about Sylvio's history - he is such a tormented but fascinating character.
Any additional comments?
Crossroads makes me want to pick up Pirates of Panamindorah to complete the explorations of that amazing world created by Abigail Hilton.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Amazing SF!
Revisado: 05-06-14
Where does The Martian rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Best hard scifi I've listened to in a very long time! Totally believable from a science perspective and a really great story - edge of the seat action and some real emotion as well. I even felt very smart when I thought of a solution to a problem at the same time the narrator spoke it!! Definitely award worthy and would make a great movie too!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Found myself constantly rooting for the protag. and very concerned about his well being - all while laughing out loud at some of the things he had to do to survive.

Promises Kept....
Revisado: 05-29-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Promise of Blood to be better than the print version?
Narrator was fabulous - female voices were not annoying at all and every character was easily differentiated. Almost like listening to a full-cast audio!
What did you like best about this story?
Promise of Blood starts out with a bang and the action continues to ratchet up right to the end. Characters are well developed and the story grabs you right from the start.Brian McClellan writes epic fantasy in a setting not usually experienced - magic mixed with guns! The story is complex and contains lots of human drama mixed with magic, monsters and political intrigue.
Any additional comments?
