Historia
When Selly and Leander began their treacherous voyage to the Isles of the Gods, the captain’s daughter and the playboy prince were strangers. But amid talk of war and a deadly attack on their ship, the unthinkable happened. They fell in love. Leander’s ritual at the island temple was meant to prevent a war between the gods. Instead, it nearly cost him his life, and drew the goddess Barrica back from exile. Now, as her Messenger, Leander is imbued with her deadly magic, and only Selly’s presence can stop it from consuming him.

Oh for God's sake!
Revisado: 09-28-22
The seies went from thoughtful investigation of gender roles and an alt-history story line to never ending day-time soap opera. I stuck it out through this third book in hopes of a clever conclusion,. The men are flat characters. Not much is done with new characters. The author should have wrapped this up in 3 books. i will not be reading the inevitable sequels.

Historia
Goldengrove’s towers and twisted chimneys rose at the very edge of the peaceful Weald, a stone’s throw from the poisonous marshes and merciless waters of Rye Bay. Young Tabby Palethorp had been running wild there, ever since her mother grew too ill to leave her room. I was the perfect choice to give Tabby a good English education: thoroughly respectable and far too plain to tempt her lonely father, Sir Kit, to indiscretion. I knew better than to trust my new employer with the truth about my past. But knowing better couldn’t stop me from yearning for impossible things.

Disliked this one
Revisado: 05-14-21
I always muscle through to the end on books I am not enjoying and usually I find something redeeming to take away. Nothing redeeming this time. Slow. Unlikeable and inconsistant characters. Gratuitous language. If this were written before1980s, maybe the sex scenes would at least be shocking but now they are just sex scenes thrown in. If this book could have been trimmed to half or less of its length it may have been decently good.
