Historia
Thousands of years ago, Earth's terraforming program took to the stars. On the world they called Nod, scientists discovered alien life - but it was their mission to overwrite it with the memory of Earth. Then humanity's great empire fell, and the program's decisions were lost to time. Aeons later, humanity and its new spider allies detected fragmentary radio signals between the stars. They dispatched an exploration vessel, hoping to find cousins from old Earth. But those ancient terraformers woke something on Nod better left undisturbed. And it's been waiting for them.

another stellar performance
Revisado: 03-27-25
This book series continues to capture my attention like nothing else has recently.
I've been listening to the audiobooks and the narrator does a fantastic job making the story come to life and giving each character a full range of emotion and time to shine.
I'm emotionally attached to these humans and the sentient critters they've met/created/formed friendships with.
I can't wait to see what the next book holds!

not me crying over spiders
Revisado: 03-06-25
the narrator did a fantastic job with this story. it took a few chapters for me to fully figure out thr story but once it clicked for me I was HOOKED. The tension, stress, and learning were translated so well into spoken dialogue. I genuinely never expected to catch myself tearing up over space spiders. can't wait for the next book!

Historia
Welcome to the Grand Abeona Hotel: home of the finest food, the sweetest service, and the very best views the galaxy has to offer. All year round it moves from planet to planet, system to system, pampering guests across the furthest reaches of the milky way. The last word in sub-orbital luxury—and an absolute magnet for intrigue. Intrigues such as: Why are there love poems in the lobby inbox? How many Imperial spies are currently on board? What is the true purpose of the Problem Solver’s conference? And perhaps most pertinently—who is driving the ship?

fantastic cast
Revisado: 02-24-25
The cast for The Floating Hotel really drew me in. I loved seeing how the individuals that make up the staff weave together and apart to tell the story. I was constantly hooked on their backstories and how everyone ended up there that I didn't realize the mystery we were unwrapping until several chapters in! Truly a fantastic listening experience.

Historia
Following the events in Network Effect, the Barish-Estranza corporation has sent rescue ships to a newly-colonized planet in peril, as well as additional SecUnits. But if there’s an ethical corporation out there, Murderbot has yet to find it, and if Barish-Estranza can’t have the planet, they’re sure as hell not leaving without something. If that something just happens to be an entire colony of humans, well, a free workforce is a decent runner-up prize. But there’s something wrong with Murderbot; it isn’t running within normal operational parameters.

Historia
I’m usually alone in my head, and that’s where 90 plus percent of my problems are. When Murderbot's human associates (not friends, never friends) are captured and another not-friend from its past requires urgent assistance, Murderbot must choose between inertia and drastic action. Drastic action it is, then.

Historia
Dragons are common in the backwater kingdom of Bellemontagne, coming in sizes from mouse-like vermin all the way up to castle-smashing monsters. Gaius Aurelius Constantine Heliogabalus Thrax (who would much rather people call him Robert) has recently inherited his deceased dad’s job as a dragon catcher/exterminator, a career he detests with all his heart in part because he likes dragons, feeling a kinship with them, but mainly because his dream has always been the impossible one of transcending his humble origin to someday become a prince’s valet.
