Historia
Deadpool meets Game of Thrones in this thrilling tale of demons, dragons and treachery. After Breed, a thief-assassin of small renown, is chased by a dragon, tricked by a demon, almost killed by a psychopathic gang boss and hunted by a ferocious spider, life really takes a turn for the worse. Sentenced to five years bonded servitude to a one-handed priest magician, Breed must find the hammer of the ancient hero known only as The Hammer of the North within a year and a day...or else.

enjoyed it more than I expected, constantly had me chuckling quietly to myself. a fun, quippy rogue of a main character. a bit light on the world building and exposition. it's not a literartutan or anything, but it's a fun quick listen

Historia
The Nameless Dwarf lies entombed beneath the earth, locked in an eternal sleep until the hour of Medryn-Tha's greatest need. With one shot at redemption, he must discover who he really is if he is to prevent the destruction of all the worlds and lead the dwarves to safety. But the deceptions that once cursed him have not been lain to rest. Every victory, every loss presents new dangers, new decisions. And history will remember him as the most cursed among the fallen...or the greatest hero of legend.

Couldn't believe how bad this was
Revisado: 04-14-24
I was pretty excited about this after seeing the reviews but they must have either been paid or read a different book. I listened to it in its entirety hoping it would improve but it's honestly ridiculous. the characters reactions are generally implausible. The writing is like a pre teen boy attempting to write what he thinks is an edgy adult action adventure story. It just falls short, a couple of characters have potential but it's never completely realized and the overall plot is just weak. And no woman alive is going to watch a man murder her infant with his bare hands IN FRONT OF HER, then legitimately and honestly fall in love with him. I don't care how ostensibly "not his fault" it may be, it's completely unbelievable.

Historia
Deep below the University, there is a dark place. Few people know of it: a broken web of ancient passageways and abandoned rooms. A young woman lives there, tucked among the sprawling tunnels of the Underthing, snug in the heart of this forgotten place. Her name is Auri, and she is full of mysteries. The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes.

this girl is wonderfully and sweetly mad. I have never so quickly and completely fallen in love with a character. Thanks Pat, thank you for not putting this in a trunk, Thank you for sharing her with us. I haven't read any of your other work, I have no idea what drew me to this one, but I will definitely read more.

Historia
Long ago, the world fell into twilight, when the great empires of old consumed each other in sorcerous cataclysms. In the south, the Star Towers fell, swallowed by the sea, while the black glaciers descended upon the northern holdfasts, entombing the cities of Min-Ceruth in ice and sorcery. Then from the ancient empire of Menekar, the paladins of Ama came, putting every surviving sorcerer to the sword and cleansing their taint from the land. The pulse of magic slowed, fading like the heartbeat of a dying man. But after a thousand years, it has begun to quicken again.

where to start?
Revisado: 12-13-22
it started a little rough but I'm so glad I stuck with it. I began to love the characters and the world after a couple chapters. This is the best 50ish hour prologue I've ever read! I'm going to see if there is a continuation because I want more. if there isn't I'm setting something on fire. something small probably, I'm not crazy. but this story is crazy good. After getting through the afore mentioned slow start I was hooked and by the end it felt like an opening for a much larger and grander world and story.

Historia
Eskara has lost everything. The War Eternal has cost her everything she loves, and the Iron Legion has taken the rest. Yet there is something that is still hers, something that kept her warm during her time in the Pit: anger and a lust for vengeance. First on the list of those who must pay: the Emperor of Terrelan. Her friends counsel peace, but her inner demons push for war. Will she find a way to reap her vengeance? Or will the enemies of her past catch up to her first? One thing is certain. The world will soon know fear when the Corpse Queen ascends her throne.

Historia
Eskara is free of the Pit, but far from safe. She is beset by the ghosts of those she has killed, and plagued by the ancient horror that possesses her. Enemies dog her heels, determined to see the last Orran Sourcerer dead. Worse still, there is new player in the game, one far more dangerous than anything she has faced before. But there is one place that might offer her both the safety she needs to survive, and the power she needs to strike back; Ro’shan, the flying home of a God. Eska will soon learn that all power comes with a cost, and some prices are too high.

not sure where to start.
Revisado: 02-01-21
Downloaded it because of it's length and I thought that even if it's not Tolkien, Jordan or Sanderson it would probably still be entertaining for long boring drives and it appeared to be in the spirit of R.E. Howard's "Conan" or Frank Frazetta's "Death Dealer". After mentally forcing myself through all 90+ hours hoping it would improve all I can say is that it's just bad, don't waste your money. Juvenile and poorly written even more poorly performed, the editor must have been drunk. At multiple points it would repeat multiple paragraphs that had already been read. Many times common words are used out of context and grossly mispronounced. Over 90 hours long and there's no conclusion to the attempt at a main plot or any of the threadbare tangential sub plots. The most entertaining part of it is how bad it is. It's a literary train wreck.
