There are gaps in the story and it doesn’t flow!

I have fond memories about this story from the movie. I was enjoying this book, but thought I kept falling asleep and missing stuff. It took me a while to realise that it wasn’t me, there really were parts missing. Like when Wesley and Buttercup are in the fire swamp. Wesley is attacked by rodents. As soon as he has won the fight, Buttercup leaves him for the Prince. Like when did the prince get there? I don’t know if my story just download badly, but these gaps take away from the story and that’s why I marked it down.
