Associated with the energy industry…OR NOT…this is a MUST READ to help understand the one common commodity.
Revisado: 07-27-21
Growing up in and building a career within the “energy industry” tends to force us into a narrow scope and point of view of the impact of our corner of the industry.
This work is the single-greatest source I have been looking for to provide a broader view and help me to understand where the energy industry is headed.

Why does productivity always come with anxiety? Why do you have random bursts of hyperfocus? Why can't you finish any projects you start? Why can't you get focused on command? Why do you get distracted so easily? Are you just lazy? Is it possible for people with ADHD to be productive and happy at the same time? Yes you can. You're not lazy or stupid, you just have ADHD. It's a neurodevelopmental disorder with pros and cons. You can be both focused and productive without giving up your happiness. You just need to learn to use your brain properly.

Historia
Fifth grade was the worst year of Marc's life. He stunk at gym class, math was too hard for him, the school lunch was horrible, and his class field trip was ruined because he couldn't swim. But what was the most awful thing about fifth grade? Kenny Williamson, the class bully, who called himself the "King of the Jungle". When Marc's mother tells him that his uncle Jake is coming to stay for the whole summer, Marc can't wait. Uncle Jake is a for-real super-cool Navy SEAL. And Uncle Jake has a plan.

My 6y/o son LOVES this book!!!
Revisado: 11-30-18
My 6y/o son was diagnosed with Oppositional Defiance Disorder. Not "ADD", but "ODD". I am an old school parent, so for those of you who do not believe in such disorders, believe me, I didn't either, but the parenting we used to raise his two older brothers still left me with a kindergarten student who was getting sent to ISS and kicked out of school...
We tried therapy. We tried book specifically targeting his disorder. There was a noticeable difference, but only immediately following sessions.
My wife was skeptical when I bought this book. I have two of Jocko's books and figured we would try it out because just listening to Jocko talk is an experience in and of itself. To ease my wife's tensions, I listened to the book on my own first and quickly found myself implementing the lessons learned. Then I brought it to my son one night as his next bedtime book. He begged me to let him listen to an extra chapter that night. The next morning, since I wouldn't let him listen to an extra chapter the night before, he asked that if he got dressed and ready for school on his own if he could listen to the next chapter...we said sure...he was dressed, ready to go and pouring a bowl of cereal in 10 minutes...AND HADN'T ARGUED WITH HIS 2 BROTHERS AT ALL!!! FIRST TIME EVER!!!
To wrap up...he has not forgotten to ask about the book each night and has voluntarily implemented those lessons that he understands. He has even started getting me to work out with him in the morning. Now my 10 and 12 y/o's are in on the book and we are even more excited to see that there is a part 2. GREAT TOOL FOR TEACHING YOUR KIDS TO BE THE BEST "ME" THEY CAN BE.
Thanks Jocko & Thor!!!

Perfect intro for parents of children w/ O.D.D.
Revisado: 09-04-18
As a parent of a 6 year old child battling O.D.D., including professional therapy sessions, the first 4 days of using the knowledge in this book to educate my family and to help my child better control their situations & surroundings, these first 4 days have been the most productive for my 6 year old in two years.

Historia
Moneyball reveals a quest for something as elusive as the Holy Grail, something that money apparently can't buy: the secret of success in baseball. The logical places to look would be the giant offices of major league teams and the dugouts. But the real jackpot is a cache of numbers collected over the years by a strange brotherhood of amateur baseball enthusiasts: software engineers, statisticians, Wall Street analysts, lawyers, and physics professors.
