Solid highland world building with nice romance
Revisado: 03-30-20
I enjoyed the story. The character development served to move the story forward, whether through direct exposition or through conversation and action. The plot mixed suspense, adventure, and romance to create a superb reading/listening experience. Dave Gillies is a master of narration. He brought this highland romantic adventure to life with his vocal talent.

Historia
Sandra Hurst has left her husband. Again. After dropping out of college to marry Trent, divorcing him, then remarrying him, she's shown up on her parents' doorstep nursing her wounds. But her parents refuse to help this time - emotionally or financially. Desperate to earn money and determined to start over, she accepts an offer from her aunt to house-sit at the old family home, Cub Creek, in ruggedly beautiful rural Virginia.

Nice performance of an emotional book
Revisado: 06-04-18
I was captivated by the understated suspense of the story. The performance brought even more depth to the author's carefully nuanced writing. We understand that Sandra has internalized the manipulative treatment by her husband as deserved and doubts her abilities and choices. I rejoiced as she learned to push aside the fear of the future and learn to make one choice at a time based on the need and information available in the present moment.
