Historia
The truth? Lonely advertising rep Malia Evergreen is still waiting for a soul mate, marriage, and a family. The lie? Telling every busybody she knows that she’s met someone. Now it’s a matter of finding him. Malia needs a date for a wedding. In a pinch she strikes a bargain with her former client, CEO Palmer Matterson—an arrogant, defiantly single, alpha billionaire whose best quality is insincerity. The perfect fake date.

DNF - Stopped in Chapter 10
Revisado: 08-21-23
I picked this book because I like the fake relationship trope. Unfortunately, it's taking too long to get to the fake relationship part. The narrators do an excellent job of portraying the characters. The problem is, I find the heroine annoying. I'll admit I was leery going into because nonBIPOC writers rarely get BIPOC characters right. I can honestly say this admitted bias is not what led to the DNF. It was the way the heroine stubbornly kept pushing the hero away. The book only has 26 chapters. If by chapter 10 the hero is still trying to get the heroine to admit she likes him, that's too much time wasted, IMO. It doesn't leave much room for relationship building between the H/h. I read through other reviews to see if I should keep pushing to finish and found very little to encourage me.

Historia
A perfect blend of medical drama and spiritual insight, Gray Matter is a fascinating account of Dr. David Levy's decision to begin asking his patients if he could pray for them before surgery. Some are thrilled. Some are skeptical. Some are hostile, and some are quite literally transformed by the request.

So glad I found this
Revisado: 01-09-23
If anyone thinks this is dry and boring, think again. The medical cases were fascinating as well as the glimpse we get into the doctor's thought processes. I'm happy to learn I'm not the only one who hesitates to offer to pray with others. Reading this encouraged me to seek to do better in this area.

I'm sorry I waited so long
Revisado: 12-28-22
First, I confused this author with another author I like with a similar name. I'm so glad I did. I really enjoyed this story and the heroine's growth as she dealt with her grief and journey of self forgiveness. The hero was the perfect book boyfriend and the ending left me with a wide grin on my face. I highly recommend it.

Not a Romance. It's Women's fiction.
Revisado: 09-13-22
Audible has this miscategorized as a romance. It's more women's fiction with possible romantic elements. Because I was expecting a romance, the pacing and narration felt slow. There's no actual conflict. No real drama. If I were driving and looking for something to capture and hold my attention, this is not the book. Instead, I listened to it as background noise as I worked. The work on the house is interesting because I like home improvement shows and personal DIY. The characters are okay. I'm on the fence about if I'll continue with the rest of the books.

Historia
One of the greatest challenges facing Christians today is the powerful influence of secular thinking. From all directions we're fed a constant barrage of persuasive - yet unbiblical - worldviews. This makes it difficult to know where to stand on today's most talked-about issues. The leadership team at Grace Community Church, along with their pastor, John MacArthur, provide much-needed discernment and clarity in the midst of rampant confusion. Using the Bible as the foundation, you'll learn how to develop a Christian perspective on key issues.

It started off pretty good
Revisado: 07-12-22
I downloaded this because of the current Roe vs Wade controversy. I wanted to ensure my theology was correct and hadn't been influenced by secular opinion. It started off well with a few thought provoking biblical views. However, by the time I struggled my way through his (their) opinions on birth control and surrogacy, I had to call it quits. It doesn't address the fact that God gives medical wisdom to doctors. I agree with one of the reviewers opinion that it comes across as very legalistic. If you listen, make sure you're praying for discernment and not taking everything spouted here as law.

Heroine lost me about halfway in...
Revisado: 09-10-20
This book started out very good. Somewhere around the time we discover the heroine is being blackmailed, I lost interest. Maybe it's my age (51), but she just came across as immature. The hero nailed it on the head. I kept waiting for the heroine to acknowledge that he was right and grow up, but that didn't happen. I stopped listening at that point.

Jack and I, we did everything backward. The day he lured me into his office - which was also the first day we met - he proposed. You'd think a guy who looked like him - a bit cold maybe, but still striking and very unattainable - would only ask the love of his life to marry him, right? You'd think he must be madly in love.

My only disappointment with the story was the heroine's reaction when she learned the truth. I liked everything else and I'm glad the author didn't drag it out to long.

Vanessa Mazur knows she's doing the right thing. She shouldn't feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans, and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary. But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she's beyond shocked.

Historia
When wilderness guide Harper Ward is summoned to the small town sheriff's office in Helena Springs, Montana, to provide assistance on a case, she is shocked to find that their only suspect in the double murder investigation is a man described as a savage. But the longer she watches the man known only as Lucas, on the station surveillance camera, the more intrigued she becomes. He certainly looks primitive with his unkempt appearance and animal skin attire, but she also sees intelligence in his eyes, sensitivity in his expression. Who is he?

I scrolled past this book several times before deciding to give it a listen. So happy I did. It's like a modern day Tarzan story, only much better. I highly recommend both the story and the narrators. They did an excellent job.
