Historia
Sally Milz is a sketch writer for The Night Owls, a late-night live comedy show that airs every Saturday. With a couple of heartbreaks under her belt, she’s long abandoned the search for love, settling instead for the occasional hook-up, career success, and a close relationship with her stepfather to round out a satisfying life. But when Sally’s friend and fellow writer Danny Horst begins dating Annabel, a glamorous actress who guest-hosted the show, he joins the not-so-exclusive group of talented but average-looking and even dorky men at the show.

Smart, funny, ironic. I wasn’t prepared for how good this book is. I like the real life problems, the celebrity culture, the un feminist feminism

Nice even tension
Revisado: 12-15-23
Cold case, lots of interesting characters, JP is a bit too generous, a lot of events fall neatly into place at the last minute, a lot of happy endings but intriguing listen.

But two weeks ago, Becca Eckersley, a first-year law student and daughter of a powerful attorney, was brutally murdered there. Now the town is reeling with grief, and the police are baffled.

Great story but could have been edited
Revisado: 01-18-22
Elizabeth George presents a well crafted, researched, thought out mystery that is as much about characters as who done it. Great insight into how we subconsciously fall into old forms of behavior, how we kill those who we love acting what we think is proper behavior. That said it could have been shorter with less description.

Some of those successes - the toughest ones - have involved his best friend, the brilliant Psychologist Alex Delaware. But Milo doesn’t call Alex in unless cases are "different". This murder warrants an immediate call. Decent if a little predictable and melodramatic
Revisado: 01-16-21
Lots of tension and a few distraction, liberal are like this, liberal don’t know anything, liberal are entitled. Some conclusions come way before the main character sees them, some events are contrived and do the right thing it will work out, so a fair amount of editing would have made this a block buster
