I found the story form very interesting and enjoyable, waiting to hear the next stage in each character's experience, to see how it would all come together in the end.

Historical novel. Worth re-reading.

Though a work of fiction, this novel is about one small cell of the WW2 resistance movement in Holland. It is closely based on real people, places, dates, and events, and what is known about them. This is a very interesting, well-written, and enjoyable--as well as horrifying--glimpse into what Nazi tyranny did to the local populace, and to the heroic individuals working against it.

Wierd. Strange. Funny. Very unusual.

Very much enjoyed the (sometimes actual & sometime's hypotheyical) answers based on real science and math. Even tho some of the questions sound like they come from one of my pre-school-age' grandkids. I.e. without much real-life experience or wisdom. The answers, for the most part, however, are more for the grown-up college age kid in a science or physics major!

So very sad, yet heartwarming & wonderful

Storyline is very enjoyable, if somewhat predictable. However, the descriptions and details about life amidst war & death, hope amidst terror, survival amidst great loss; The details of making the best one can out of rationing, despite the deprivation; the companionship & comradship among strangers; and the surprise and unexpected joy, fear, and loss woven through the building of deep relationships. I most highly recommend this tale to anyone who may be the least bit interested in life in London between 1939 and 1945.

Wonderful Time Transit War Remance

Very fun listen. What a great imagination, to intermixed time periods, wars, and an unexpectedly sweet relationship between people who never meet. Really tugs at the heartstrings--in a lovely way.

Healing Tremendous Trauma

Very well-written, Awesome true story in two parts; 1) The unbelievable early trauma in a very young girl's life that continues through twenty or more years, and, 2) the Deep Healing of that trauma, beginning in her mid-teen years, and continuing through to today.
As these two themes became intertwined. I found myself [a 70-yr-old man] often in tears reading of the abuse and terror of being a daughter of America's most infamous polygamist/serial murderer/dad; and more tears again later as Anna meets her real Father, and grows in Healing and faith.
Plus, the fact that this [historically] factual memior is read by the author herself, who obviously re-experiences it as she reads, is an incredible bonus.
I recommend that every man and woman over the age of 16 listen to this text for the pure joy of it. One's perseverance through the early horrors - and tears, as well as the latter terrors - and tears, while keeping an open mind and an open heart, will be rewarded an amazing Joy once you've completed the entire book.
This is now one of my top 25 books to recommend--out of more than four thousand [in every genre] that I've read or listened to over the last sixty years.

Superb reading of this classic, terrific tale

Best reading I've heard of this story over the long years of my life. Not overly excited nor rapid, nor breathless - as some do, and thus telegraph ending, as some do. But, rather understated -- in an appropriate way, which enhances the mystery and builds anticipation

Nice fantasy - wish this was real

Enjoyed the performance, and the storyline. Unfortunately, having some acquaintance with each, neither the Army CIC-CID/USIC, the Air Force OSI, nor the NCIS are able to function along these lines. I.e., outside the lines. [Tho there are times we all wish they could.] Fun listen, tho!
