Why did you add other narrators?????
Revisado: 06-02-24
R.C. Bray did an excellent job on the first five books narrating all the characters. Why did that change for this book? Everything was ruined by the multiple narrators. I couldn’t even finish it.

Historia
Glacier National Park police officer Monty Harris knows that each summer at least one person - be it a reckless, arrogant climber or a distracted hiker - will meet tragedy in the park. But Paul "Wolfie" Sedgewick's fatal fall from the sheer cliffs near Going-to-the-Sun Road is incomprehensible. Wolfie was an experienced and highly regarded wildlife biologist who knew all too well the perils that Glacier's treacherous terrain presents - and how to avoid them.

NEUROTIC main character SO annoying!
Revisado: 01-04-21
In the first novel, I liked Monty. Now the spotlight is on him. Ms. Carbo decided to make him a neurotic ass. He is constantly whining about his family (Dad an alcoholic, Mom schizophrenic, Brother a bully and Wife that changed her mind and now wants kids (he doesn't want kids because he's afraid he'll pass family traits to them). BFD!!! It's no excuse to freak out, rant, provoke and hurt people over and over again when he's the biggest loser of them all,
Monty was so mired in the past and feeling sorry for himself (only a mere 15 yrs have passed!), he doesn't consider his brother Adam as an adult that may have changed. He has the audacity to say to his brother "Poor you, lots of people in this world are dealt a not so stellar hand, it no excuse to screw up your life". Pot meet Kettle. Monty was way more worse than Adam.
Book would have been decent if you cut out the HOURS of whining.

Narrator’s vocal of female lead wrecked it
Revisado: 11-05-20
Bronson Pinchot’s choice of how to voice the female lead was SO HORRIBLE! Deep throaty monotone ugh! Nail scraping slowly down a chalkboard would have been preferable.
As with ALL of her books, you have the crime, the 2 leads clash, think about how horny they are for each other then ultimately have sex (again and again) then they work together to solve the crime blah blah blah.

Historia
Kathleen is the happiest she’s been in a long time, but she’s always known there was a termination date on her relationship with Blane. She just didn’t expect that termination to be her funeral. Blane’s current case is drawing heated debate and stirring the pot of public fury. A former Navy SEAL stands accused of the wrongful death of an American citizen during a military operation overseas. The case has far-reaching political and military implications. Someone with a lot of money, and even more clout, wants Blane to lose.

Unsympathetic Heroine
Revisado: 10-19-17
Subtract Kathleen from the story and it’s good. I don’t understand why writers feel a woman has to be rude and not accept help in order to be strong.
Being strong is being able to accept help. Kat is so inadequate she blames others for her own issues. I haven’t been able to figure out what is so wonderful about her that 2 grown men are so ga-ya over her. Ugh

Kate Rudd ruins another one!
Revisado: 07-27-17
What didn’t you like about Kate Rudd and Christopher Lane ’s performance?
Kate Rudd has a crisp clear voice but interprets ALL her female leads the same way. RUDE, CAUSTIC, HORRIBLE women with no redeeming qualities, they are mean and unlikeable every time. It's impossible to believe anyone would want to do anything but slap them. Christopher Lane did Jenna so well in book one. I cringed as soon as I heard Ms Attitudes voice as Knives started.
Was Long Knives worth the listening time?

Historia
The story went something like this: Troy Jensen, who sailed solo around the world and conquered the seven summits, fell off a crab boat called Arctic Fire and drowned in the Bering Sea. Troy’s brother Jack, who doesn’t buy the story for a minute, heads to Alaska to uncover the truth. Jack discovers a connection between Troy and a secret intelligence organization known as Red Cell Seven (RCS) that will stop at nothing to protect America from threat (even if they have to kill thousands of Americans to do it). The problem is, the more Jack learns about Troy’s involvement with RCS, the more RCS learns about Jack.

Read it to avoid the annoying performance
Revisado: 04-13-17
I have enjoyed William Dufris in the past but not in Artic Fire and Red Cell Seven. His character voices get confused and he is CONSTANTLY sighing, loudly. It's so distracting. In Red Cell Seven he has a stuffed up nose making it even more distracting. He also blusters too loudly making his older characters seem psychotic rather than passionate.
As for the characters, the older brother Jack is a whiny wimp.

THE LIST is a bit of a departure for Konrath, who is known for his Jack Daniels mystery series. It's a technothriller about a group of ten people who each have tattoos of numbers on the bottoms their feet, and don't know why. One of them, a Chicago Homicide cop named Tom Mankowski, has had one of these strange tattoos since birth. When he investigates a violent murder and discovers the victim also has a tattooed number, it sets the ball rolling for an adventure of historic proportions.

Revisado: 06-15-16
I so LOVED the first book. I was disappointed with the 2nd and I HATED the 3rd. I couldn't finish it and it was a free listen! Steve was great, everyone was great in book one, book two he was losing intelligence now he's an idiot. It's not all the narrators fault. He just amplified the bad story
I'm so disappointed
