THIS BOOK IS SPECTACULAR! It gives the minute-by-minute progress of the War Hero and Medal of Honor Recipient Rear Admiral Eugene Fluckey and his submarine USS BARB. He talks about sneaking into enemy harbors, being depth charged by Japanese ships, and more things that I won’t spoil, but you can hardly believe! I am a retired submariner and that helps with understanding the nuances, but this book will be enjoyed by WWII enthusiasts as well. It will give the Land Lubber a feel for how dangerous the submarine force could be to the enemy AND how dangerous it was JUST to be a submariner in WWII.
This is well worth listening to and will have you on the edge of your car seat. It is remarkably well researched and the narrator is really good too. He speaks clearly and with feeling as the words require. This is well worth your time!

I read the book and the audio book LEFT OUT some of the best stories. The story itself is great, I'm just disappointed they left so much out.
