Historia
There's an honesty in the turning of the earth, in the turning of the seasons, and I've always preferred its quiet, steadfast company over that of other people. Left alone with an inherited cottage and my beloved pup Rotho to look after, my days are largely given to tending the garden, save for periodic errands in town.

Found family with monsters.
Revisado: 12-29-24
This book feels like when the urge to run away to the woods combines with an unexpected love story. I appreciated the getting to know you process wasn't rushed, and I also enjoyed that Stix wasn't human, and didn't think or act like one. I think everyone found the home they were supposed to.

Historia
It’s 1857, and anxious debutante Beth has just one season to snag a wealthy husband, or she and her mother will be out on the street. But playing the blushing ingenue makes Beth’s skin crawl and she’d rather be anywhere but here. Gwen, on the other hand, is on her fourth season and counting, with absolutely no intention of finding a husband, possibly ever. She figures she has plenty of security as the only daughter of a rakish earl, from whom she’s gotten all her flair, fun, and less-than-proper party games.

Found family, second chances, and fighting for love
Revisado: 09-10-24
This story is all about found family, second chances, and fighting for love. Multiple love stories play out on screen which adds vibrance to the world building and the characters. Some of the drama felt a little drawn out, but once someone started making different choices they all broke free from unhealthy patterns that were keeping them trapped.

Follow your heart
Revisado: 09-04-24
Lucas's journey really pulled me into the story. I love.
That his mates saw and encouraged him to be himself. I would have liked to see more of how they interacted outside the bedroom, but that's a personal preference.

A promising beginning
Revisado: 08-30-24
I was told this would be a slow burn and i'm not disappointed. I see so many layers of this story coming together and i'm excited to see what happens next. Fitch is a very injured main character, who would absolutely never admit to having an injury physical or psychological. I think I see where part of this is headed, and I hope I'm wrong because my heart already breaks for him. I'm excited to see what happens next.

High Spice

Concise and sometimes overly convenient plot. High levels of spice. I would have loved to see more emotional development, but this might not be the right story for that.

Historia
Tonight I meet my mate. I don’t know anything about him, including his name. According to fox shifter tradition, my parents chose him for me. For the next month we’ll be living together in a remote cabin. That’s how fox shifters form a bond. We burrow with our intended for a full month of winter. My mothers say my new mate is kind, and he won’t mind that I don’t look like other omegas. But I’m nervous. What if he’s disappointed? Or even worse, what if he’s someone I could never bring myself to love?

Cozy insta-lust and quick love
Revisado: 04-30-24
Snuggle Season is a very cozy story with lots of warm cozy feelings. I would have connected more with the insta lust/love if the characters spent more time emotionally bonding or talking about what this means to them and why they're committed. I appreciate that they both accept each other as they are, and I'm not sure if their similar life altering injuries feels like kinship or something contrived. I loved that they found their own way to be together that worked for them.

Hot and Cold
Revisado: 04-22-24
There are many things I really enjoyed about this story and many I really didn't. First the flirty danger of a possessive stalking Kraken was fun to see. He absolutely fell first and didn't want to risk frightening away a skittish mate. I'm still a little unclear if he would have held back regardless of the circumstances. He references his creature wanting or disliking certain things, but I'm not sure how much control he has. It would have been interesting to learn how much og him holding back was his general preference and how much was motivated by his insecure, ready to run mate. I also hated how she agonized about not being wanted but then immediately withdrew when he tried to approach emotional intimacy. That would have been more believable if she'd reflected on her own hypocrisy or approached the relationship more committed to emotional distance but felt her moments of closeness were slips she couldn't help wanting. I also hated the 3rd act drama of their relationship. She seems way too insecure and juvenile in her reactions to be seriously dating. I did love the sex positive environment and messages and how much he clearly listens to and honors her consent.

Jonathan Forest should never have hired Sam. It was a sentimental decision, and Jonathan didn't get where he is by following his heart. Determined to set things right, Jonathan orders Sam down to London for a difficult talk…only for a panicking Sam to trip, bump his head, and maybe accidentally imply he doesn't remember anything?

Unexpectedly Heartwarming
Revisado: 02-28-24
A lie is a terrible way to begin a relationship and that's sort of Sam's entire problem. Because he's been lying to himself so long I don't think he considers the ramifications of what he's about until it's far too late. But it's also sort of the best thing he's ever done because that lie, and all the reasons for it force him and Jonathan to spend time together, gives them a chance to really see each other, and time to come to grip about how much they like what they see. I do think accountability is important; I also think they're taking a note from Elizabeth Bennett about good memories begin unpardonable.
