Historia
Oakland-bred LaVeesha “Vee” Gilliam (Coco Jones) is a determined single mother of an autistic son and a gifted aspiring coder. When Vee loses her job as a food-services worker at the onsite restaurant at Grapengine, a large Silicon Valley tech company, she’s unable to pay for her son’s much-needed specialized education. By a twist of fate, mistaken identity, and her tech skills, Vee meets Troy Wilson (Keith Powers), the company’s wealthy founder and CEO and a wunderkind in the tech industry, who believes that Vee is a college-educated techie who works at his company.

Different listening experience
Revisado: 04-12-25
This is from my own personal experience but I've never heard an audiobook like this before; it was like listening to a movie but the visuals come to your mind instead of physically seeing it in front of you, I'm aware that that's how audiobooks are made to function, the written text is read by a narrator and recorded on an audio file and uploaded to the listening software. But this felt so much more imerssive, the story was very heartfelt and had me feeling a deep connection with V and her son. I loved the way their relationship was portrayed in detail, the repersentation of mental health, autism and work as a whole feels very real and fleshed out.

Historia
Hi, I'm Jordyn. I flew from New York to Culver City, CA to interview for the job of a lifetime. When I walked into The Bookstore, I only wanted a steamy romance or two to help pass the time before my big meeting. I walked out with a cinnamon roll who was more funny and charming than all of my favorite book boyfriends combined. Mike was irresistible, and the time we spent together was more fun than I've had in a long time. But I'm smart enough to know if something feels to good too be true, it probably is. I mean, happily ever afters are just for fairy tales and romance novels...right?

Very good read, I had a loooot of audible and visual reaction ranging from my jaw dropping in awe to nearly breaking my wall by throwing my personal copy of the book in excitement. Jordan felt super real with the amount of hopeful romance I aspire to have.
