I could never get past the first page trying to read Lorna Doone, but listening to this is like listening to Hagrid tell you stories around the fire. Excellent reader, great read, tons of fun! Great adventure and love story. I laughed, I cried. Great book. Well recommended.

Historia
Drums along the Mohawk, Walter D. Edmonds' masterpiece, is not only the best historical novel about upstate New York since James Fenimore Cooper, it was also number one on the bestseller list for two years, only yielding to the epic Gone with the Wind. This is the story of the forgotten pioneers of the Mohawk Valley during the Revolutionary War. Here Gilbert Martin and his young wife struggled and lived and hoped.

fantastic read
Revisado: 06-26-19
I had seen the Claudette Colbert and Henry Fonda movie years ago and vaguely remembered it but the book itself is fantastic. excellent true to life adventure of the Revolutionary War period in Upstate New York. The hardships they went through in their personal lives told with sympathetic realism. Great, realistic characters, excellent writing and a performance that does the book justice. really a great adventure. Dont pass it up!

Historia
In the grand storytelling style that is his signature, James Michener sweeps us back through time to the very beginnings of the Jewish faith, thousands of years ago. Through the predecessors of four modern men and women, we experience the entire colorful history of the Jews, including the life of the early Hebrews and their persecutions, the impact of Christianity, the Crusades, and the Spanish Inquisition, all the way to the founding of present-day Israel and the Middle East conflict.

Historia
The Irish-American story, with all its twists and triumphs, is told through the improbable life of one man. A dashing young orator during the Great Famine of the 1840s, in which a million of his Irish countrymen died, Thomas Francis Meagher led a failed uprising against British rule, for which he was banished to a Tasmanian prison colony. He escaped and six months later was heralded in the streets of New York - the revolutionary hero, back from the dead, at the dawn of the great Irish immigration to America.
