Historia
Tessa O'Connell is a girl as ordinary as they come - or so she thinks. Her aim for senior year is to keep her head down yet somehow manage to convince her childhood love, Jay Stone, to love her back. What she isn't prepared for is for Jay's brother, Cole, to return to town and change the life she's always been seemingly content to live. Tall, gorgeous as all hell, and a bad boy with ocean blue eyes and the perfect edge of adorability, he was her greatest tormentor, her number one enemy.

**Spoilers**
I am 6.5 hours in and like some others... I am having a very hard time with this book. Completely ignoring the fact that Cole and Jason are STEPBROTHERS who oddly have the same last name (maybe this is explained later?), and Tessa calls Cassandra Stone her favorite nurse, and then later it is explained that she is in fact a Doctor? These are just things that I feel should have been caught either by the writer or publisher, but whatever because we're ignoring that. The worst, and I mean the ABSOLUTE WORST part about this book is the narration!!! I have over 300 books on my audible account and this is the worst narration I have ever heard. When she is doing other characters, she makes Alex sound like a "slow", smoked 20 cigarettes a day for 30 years, Boston native. Tessa's dad has the same voice as Alex, and so does the detective. Then there's Megan, OMFG MEGAN'S VOICE makes me want to SCREAM!!!! She sounds like when I yell at my 5 year old for talking like a baby. Unfortunately, when I start something, I have to see it through. I will update on the story itself once I agonizingly finish it, but for now, the narration alone is enough to deter.
Update. I finished the book. I am a little annoyed that they are 18, they are all 18 and the most they have done is kiss? Even when Cole cheats on Tessa, all he does is kiss? Also, why the heck is Jason discussing his sister's virginity with her boyfriend? How does he even know that she is a virgin? WEIRD!!!! Again, SHES 18!!! Get over it. Very unrealistic. I know that there are people like that out there, but I don't buy it in this book. It was pointless to listen to Cole's version of events, it was just the same thing over but in a boy's voice. (Also not great narration)
Still, the worst narration I've ever heard, but not the worst book I've ever read... That being said, I will not be reading it again and I absolutely loathe that I have two more of these I have to sit through.

WHAAAAAT!!
Revisado: 05-01-20
This book started a little slow but it took me a while to find another book that I could even close to get into so I committed, and I was so glad I did. I laughed quite a bit and it was suspenseful! I never cried but that's okay. I loved every bit of this book (besides the lack of communication, how frustrating) until THE END!!! How can it end like that with no sequel! THAT makes me want to cry! I am going to be wondering for the rest of my life how this ended!

**SPOILERS**
I am 2 hours in and CAN NOT get into it. This is one of the most boring and monotonous books I have listened to in YEARS. The narrator has exactly ONE TONE of voice for ALL emotions. I am going to see if I can return or trade it. I am SUPER type A and I have the CONSTANT NEED to finish EVERYTHING I start. I can stop this book right here and not even be a tiny bit sad about it. 2 hours of my life is enough wasted on this book. You already know she's dead and who did it this far in anyways. Hopefully, I can find a better one to replace it!

Like many, I am glad I saw this series through. There were times I wanted to give up on it. Times that I wanted to give up on Hardin and Tessa. It made me so sad, all the wasted years. Tessa really has a hard patch in this one and it made me hate her less. I have gone back and forth through all 4 books, but overall. I recommend.

Drags on a bit
Revisado: 03-08-19
This book is the same as the first and second. One of them THINKS the other did something to hurt them so they in turn do something to hurt the other instead of just talking about it or asking about it. The lack of communication is these books is truly astonishing. The sex scenes drag on way too long in these books and there’s too many of them. I got to the point where I was just skipping through them until they were done because I got to be so over it in this book. I’m excited to listen to the fourth book and hoping for some new things to happen!

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

I can not even conceive of everything in this story. I have never had a hero before but I feel like after reading this I do. The things this man endured and came out stronger every time. I was literally left speechless. Definitely read this book!

Stella Grant likes to be in control - even though her totally out-of-control lungs have sent her in and out of the hospital most of her life. At this point, what Stella needs to control most is keeping herself away from anyone or anything that might pass along an infection and jeopardize the possibility of a lung transplant. Six feet apart. No exceptions. The only thing Will Newman wants to be in control of is getting out of this hospital. He couldn’t care less about his treatments or a fancy new clinical drug trial. Will’s exactly what Stella needs to stay away from.

**MAY contain SPOILERS** This booked sucked me into it right away. I just sat there and listened to it until it was over. I usually listen to books while I'm driving or cleaning, but this one I finished in one sitting! I absolutely ADORED the story and I can not wait for part 2. (There had better be a part 2!) I am very good and predicting what will happen in books and movies but this ending threw me off. I was indifferent about that, but glad for the possibilities it left open. Read it!! (or listen ;)

Very Helpful
Revisado: 03-01-19
I am HUGE on talking and communicating, so I was leery going into this book. That being said, it helped tremendously. My husband struggles with communicating and showing emotions, it causes him to bottle things in and blow up after X amount of time. That anger was really our only issue. This book helped us understand things about each other that we didn't even know was an issue. There was a lot of repeating, which wasn't necessary but the point came across all the same. I highly recommend this book for anyone married, even if they aren't having issues! It was very helpful in making us understand how the other felt, even if we didn't know that's how we were feeling! :) Highly recommend
