Historia
This audiobook is about luck, or more precisely, how we perceive and deal with luck in life and business. It is already a landmark work, and its title has entered our vocabulary. In its second edition, Fooled by Randomness is now a cornerstone for anyone interested in random outcomes.

An arrogant book with a few good insights
Revisado: 07-31-24
The haughty sounding narrator of the audiobook only amplified the arrogant text. Still, this book is so widely cited I’m glad I got it out of the way.

Historia
It goes without saying that even today, it's not easy to be gay in America. While young gay men often come out more readily, even those from the most progressive of backgrounds still struggle with the legacy of early-life stigma and a deficit of self-acceptance, which can fuel doubt, regret, and, at worst, self-loathing. Through moving stories - of friends and patients, and his own - Odets considers how experiences early in life launch men on trajectories aimed at futures that are not authentically theirs.

Sappy but some interesting parts
Revisado: 04-06-24
The prose is so sentimental, made worse by a narrator who is always over dramatic. The author also makes a lot of pronouncements that are not evidence based and more his own theories. In addition, some parts feel oddly out of date despite a relatively recent publish date. But I still found some of the stories of patients interesting and appreciated a book devoted to the gay male experience, without holding back.
