Wonderful love story
Revisado: 10-16-21
Seven Days in June was completely captivating! I enjoyed the backstory of both main characters and how that affected the two when they interacted. The portrayal of Audre was absolutely adorable! My head ached for Eva and my heart ached for Shane. I love the juxtaposition of the young love and the older love and how both characters knew they needed to grow.

Perfect winter thriller!
Revisado: 01-12-21
I loved Catherine Steadman’s other book, “Something in the Water.” This book did not disappoint! Catherine narrates her books and she does an outstanding job! I really enjoyed the small, woodsy, English setting and the psychology themes.

Favorite book of 2019
Revisado: 08-06-19
This book is quite simply, one of the best books I have ever read. I am and avid reader, but memoir is not generally the genre to which I gravitate. I found myself trying to do more housework or take longer routes in the car so I could return to this audiobook.
Michelle is a gifted story-teller and communicator. We know this of course from her time in the White House, but this book provides such a robust and comprehensive narrative. I found myself welling up often, because it was like a friend revisiting a shared history, but contextualizing and sharing her perspective of the events. The welling up of course also comes from a place of wistfulness, when the office of the President was inhabited by a thoroughly honest, decent person of integrity.
This book makes Michelle an accessible ally- someone who could be a friend or work colleague. The part of her book that addressed raising the girls while Barack was a Senator, grabbing a quick lunch at Chipotle and darting into the Gap during her lunch illustrated how close to "normal" she had been before Barack ran for President.
She was not afraid to detail accounts of injustices and her general frustration at times with the political machine, but she always held true to her accounts of being fair, and going high when others have gone low.
Thank you Michelle Obama for telling your story.

Historia
This version of the Bennet family - and Mr. Darcy - is one that you have and haven't met before: Liz is a magazine writer in her late 30s who, like her yoga instructor older sister, Jane, lives in New York City. When their father has a health scare, they return to their childhood home in Cincinnati to help - and discover that the sprawling Tudor they grew up in is crumbling, and the family is in disarray.

A Fun Retelling of a Classic
Revisado: 12-29-16
I really enjoyed this story. Based on reviews here there are clearly some purists who likely did not appreciate the effort to modernize a classic, but I simply found the to be fun. I found Liz to be relatable and I liked the unpacking of the Bennett family with all of their quirks and offenses to make for an excellent story.

A Wonderful Story
Revisado: 04-19-16
This was a wonderful story about finding family. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys well-developed characters and stories of perseverance and survival juxtaposed against the back drop of suburbia. I really liked Arthur and Kel's perspective.

A great cop thriller!
Revisado: 10-17-15
What made the experience of listening to Silenced Justice the most enjoyable?
Brian Callanan did an outstanding job with the accents! There were a lot characters in this story and keeping them straight would have been more difficult if the narrator had not done such great work differentiating them.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Josh was my favorite character because he operates with integrity but is willing use nontraditional means to reach his objectives. He is likable and I enjoyed how he is driven by doing the right thing.
Have you listened to any of Brian Callanan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No- but hope to in the future.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I hesitate to answer because I do not want to provide spoilers- but Josh's interactions with the victims were particulary poignant.
Any additional comments?
Great book!
