Narrator did an excellent job!
Revisado: 09-04-22
He really made the characters come alive! Made it feel like I was watching a movie. The story is good enough, different characters that engage the emotional brain. Answers a question what does it feel like to exist within the mind of a guilty conscious. Still have questions about some of the characters.

After Listening to Black Swan by Nassim Taleb I am
Revisado: 05-01-19
Skeptical of this view that by knowing all the knowns one can thrive; there are unknown unknowns that are highly improbable but also highly impactful. I do like the chapter where he says "all plans are temporary." Lots of sports analogies and war analogies. Overall, it's an okay book but I also recommend you check out Black Swan for a more complete view.

Thank you for raising awareness on Alzheimer's!!!
Revisado: 04-10-19
Do you know what the sixth leading cause of death in the united states? Alzheimer's! Wow... Is it preventable? We dont know! I mean some of the stuff like EZ water I haven't been able to cross verify and fact check yet, but after listening to this one it kind of woke me up again to the fact that we need to protect and nourish our bodies. After finishing it, I began a regimen of vitamins supplements and white tea and green tea, organic grape seed extract, organic lions mane. I am only 28 years old but I feel this energy as if I was 20 again except I am far more intelligent than I was back then. All in all, this book needs to be heard Alzheimer's is killing us, its a spectre in our food and environment. Think about what Dr. Sebi said, animals don't get sick, only humans are the only mammals that need doctors all the time. We don't know what causes Alzheimer's but in my mind it has to be a conflagration of the sedentary lifestyle, not pushing one's mind to expand grow and learn enough, and the types of chemicals we are being exposed to and what we do about it. Highly recommend!

Psychotherapy East and West

Historia
Alan Watts examines the problem of humans in a seemingly hostile universe in ways that question the social norms and illusions that bind and constrict modern humans. Marking a groundbreaking synthesis, Watts asserts that the powerful insights of Freud and Jung, which had, indeed, brought psychiatry close to the edge of liberation, could, if melded with the hitherto secret wisdom of the Eastern traditions, free people from their battles with the self.

Not what I have come to expect from Alan Watts works
Revisado: 03-22-19
I didn’t find too much that I would say is helpful or useful in my everyday life. I have studied and listened to many Alan Watts books, and this isn’t as polished as his other works. Not too many similes like the dew drop line in “still the mind.” There are speech lectures and other Alan Watts books that will give you more. Who this book is for: I think this book is for people who want to compare and contrast east and west ideas of mental and spiritual health. For me all I can recommend listening to it at least once, but i am not keeping this title. Perhaps “you’re it” is a good title to judge Alan Watts on.

Historia
Jane’s days at a Midwest insurance company are perfectly ordinary. She blends in well, unremarkably pretty in her floral-print dresses and extra efficient at her low-level job. She’s just the kind of woman middle manager Steven Hepsworth likes - meek, insecure, and willing to defer to a man. No one has any idea who Jane really is. Least of all Steven. But plain Jane is hiding something. And Steven’s bringing out the worst in her.

Interesting view of a indignant sociopath hellbent on one singular mission
Revisado: 08-23-18
-was fascinating to see how the supporting characters weaknesses, ignoble stereotypes and egos brought on their downfalls
-interesting to see how a sociopaths brain will work in the act of seeking revenge, interesting how much she cares for the avenged
-it is manifestly singular story path with the one side romantic bifurcation illustrating the more human side of the sociopath.
With all the backstory references I felt like I missed a first book in the series possibly (it there is a series?) or that the author is preping is for a prequel or part two about the self righteous actions of the Heroine...

In 2014, Theranos founder and CEO Elizabeth Holmes was widely seen as the next Steve Jobs: a brilliant Stanford dropout whose startup “unicorn” promised to revolutionize the medical industry with its breakthrough device, which performed the whole range of laboratory tests from a single drop of blood. Backed by investors such as Larry Ellison and Tim Draper, Theranos sold shares in a fundraising round that valued the company at more than $9 billion, putting Holmes’s worth at an estimated $4.5 billion.

Incredible book! Highly recommend listen!
Revisado: 08-07-18
This book captivated me from the start! I found myself hating Elizabeth. She intentionally harmed people. She deserves to be in jail. What a terribly disgusting human being. I can’t imagine what was going through her head. She’s a scam artist. How did she think she would get away with this? She needs to be locked up, a slap on the wrist isn’t enough for this. I’m so thankful the journalist who wrote this book investigated into her and exposed her otherwise the total harm done would have been catastrophic!

From the author of 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos comes a provocative hypothesis that explores the connection between what modern neuropsychology tells us about the brain and what rituals, myths, and religious stories have long narrated. A cutting-edge work that brings together neuropsychology, cognitive science, and Freudian and Jungian approaches to mythology and narrative, Maps of Meaning presents a rich theory that makes the wisdom and meaning of myth accessible to the critical modern mind.

9 hours in and I still have no clue what he’s going on about
Revisado: 08-02-18
I listened to 12 rules and thought that was amazing. So I got this one because I wanted to hear more- but either I’m too stupid or he’s too smart because I’m so lost listening to this! Does he get paid per word or something? And big words especially? Because I feel like he takes simplest concepts and over complicates them! Don’t get me wrong so far in the past 9 hours he was provided at least 9 minutes total of lucidity that I can follow but otherwise I have found it useless. The part I’m at now he’s talking about ancient gods. I’m so freaking lost, why do I need to know this stuff? How does it help me again? I’m at a loss and I’m disappointed here. I usually don’t leave negative reviews but I can’t be the only one utterly bewildered... this is just my 2c

2 hours in and a total snooze fest.
Revisado: 07-20-18
This book is so cliche that it is difficult to stay interested and focused on the predictable and soulless plot. I find myself tuning the words out. It’s a disappointment. I don’t recommend.

Revisado: 07-18-18
I really enjoyed listening to this one. It was new and original for sure. Certainly it is very well thought out. I am left with so many Questions in a good way. As a guy I really liked the voice she did as the 5star employee (kinda hot for some reason imo). Anyways, who killed that guy? What’s on that USB? Who are these people? And what was he doing all this time? Anyways it was a really great book I recommend it

Was good but I felt myself saying “we caught him!.
Revisado: 05-11-18
I found myself saying “We caught him! We know who he is! Please tell us how you got him and what leads paid off!” But alas the book was published before the author had to chance to see the monster apprehended. So I liked the book. The details are horrible to fathom but it definitely made me reconsider how I can protect myself and the ones I love so that nothing like that ever happens to them. Definitely smart home security cameras, locked doors and windows and firearms and martial arts training would be key. I just got my CCWP and they said that it’s always best to fight back because even if you do what the bad guys says there’s no guarantee they won’t kill you anyway. Prevention is definitely best and people should always report and apprehend suspicious behaviors from people, even if that person looks harmless because look at it, being ordinary looking was this guy’s biggest defense.
