Historia
From internationally best-selling author Katrine Engberg, the series that is a “gripping addition to the Scandinavian crime fiction pantheon” (Oprah Daily) comes to a stunning conclusion as Jeppe Kørner and Anette Werner rush to untangle a long-simmering mystery before a brutal killer strikes again.

Excellent series from a new to me writer
Revisado: 05-14-23
I saw Katrine Engberg ‘s name on the reading list from my local bookstore. This is the serving book in the series that I have read. It is exceptionally well done. The characters are interesting and involving and the stories are slightly unconventional. They are set in Denmark but are readily accessible to readers from other countries. Highly recommended

Historia
A dramatic countdown of the final months of World War II in Europe, The Last 100 Days brings to life the waning power and the ultimate submission of the Third Reich. To reconstruct the tumultuous hundred days between Yalta and the fall of Berlin, John Toland traveled more than 100,000 miles in twenty-one countries and interviewed more than six hundred people - from Hitler's personal chauffeur to Generals von Manteuffel, Wenck, and Heinrici.

Fascinating and rich tale
Revisado: 07-26-18
Usually, we fast forward through the last days of WW2. “And then the Germans surrendered and the war ended”. Toland has mined a encyclopedia of sources to uncover a wealth of fascinating stories of heroism and horror, grace and brutality. Germany didn’t collapse. It was beaten in a hard fight that lasted until the final surrender. Hitler believed that if he lasted long enough, America and Britain would have a falling out with Stalin and recruit the Germans as allies. Long and occasionally dense but well worth the time.

Same old thing. But that's okay
Revisado: 09-28-16
With any Sean Dillon book, much is familiar. The same characters. Same descriptions. Just occasionally rearranged. In this book, Dillon and friends go to war with an international panoply of villains. For all that, it's still fun and well written. I like this narrator much more than the fellow who read the previous books.

Compelling read and interesting new character
Revisado: 05-16-16
This is the second installment of the Amos Decker series following Memory Man. Decker has a memory that is beyond photographic. He remembers everything perfectly, even things that he would rather forget. His condition makes him socially awkward but an incredible investigators. The supporting cast of characters is also strong. I felt myself compelled to keep listening to this story. The performances were strong but sounded like the characters in other Baldacci books.

Historia
On May 1, 1915, with WWI entering its tenth month, a luxury ocean liner as richly appointed as an English country house sailed out of New York, bound for Liverpool, carrying a record number of children and infants. The passengers were surprisingly at ease, even though Germany had declared the seas around Britain to be a war zone. For months, German U-boats had brought terror to the North Atlantic.

Revisado: 03-18-15
I have enjoyed Erik Larson's other books. I tried this book even though I wasnt specifically interested in the story of the Lusitania. I thought that I knew the story. But Larsen does a great job telling the take from multiple perspectives including the German Sub commander's.

Compelling epic
Revisado: 01-28-15
This book is long but never lags. This volume straddles WW2 from the depression to the cold war. The torch is largely past from one generation within the families to the next. This probably doesn't stand alone. You'd want to read this after the first volume.
