Historia
Edith and Ashley have been best friends for over forty-two years. They’ve shared the mundane and the momentous together: trick or treating and binge drinking; Gilligan’s Island reruns and REM concerts; hickeys and heartbreak; surprise Scottish wakes; marriages, infertility, and children. As Ash says, “Edi’s memory is like the back-up hard drive for mine.”

I wish I could give it 6 stars!
Revisado: 01-14-23
What a book!!!! I would give it 6 stars if I could. It encapsulates all the wonders of our lives—friendship, love, illness and death. The author draws on their complexities but in a raw and beautiful manner. I love her analogies and metaphors for something as simple as the receipts in her coat pocket. I especially loved the elaborate description of their meals and the beauty of food and it’s way of uniting everyone—“her people.”
Do not be steered by thinking this book is about death. It is truly about LIFE. A must read.

Historia
Olivia McAfee knows what it feels like to start over. Her picture-perfect life—living in Boston, married to a brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon, raising their beautiful son, Asher—was upended when her husband revealed a darker side. She never imagined that she would end up back in her sleepy New Hampshire hometown, living in the house she grew up in and taking over her father’s beekeeping business. Lily Campanello is familiar with do-overs, too. When she and her mom relocate to Adams, New Hampshire, for her final year of high school, they both hope it will be a fresh start.

Short and so sweet!
Revisado: 09-19-21
I really enjoyed this novella. It’s my first experience with an audio novella (I only grew up with tele novellas) and wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s a great story about moving on when we have to and letting go. I enjoyed it!

Slow going
Revisado: 10-16-19
This book picked up about halfway through when Evie and Ben slept together. I feel that it could’ve been condensed in about 20 fewer chapters. The narration was good and the storyline itself was good, but I felt myself wanting to rush through it towards the end.
