Too much happens to be in place

I could only make it about 6 hours into it and just couldn't finish. The author was the narrator and just too weak for the character.
The story in itself has some good potential, but nothing of substance. Everything was already in place to benefit the protagonist without any reason for it to be there. He lost his legs and was fitted with highly advanced prosthetics, but why him and where did they come from? Just happened to be from the gov. Similarly, the protagonist's mother happened to have built a B&B that also was an undercover top secret governmental facility. But why, what did she or her late husband do to warrant that? Another example, he talks to a beautiful woman associated with his hospital, and of course she is not only his transportation, but his nurse, and of course within a day they are both in love.

No opposition.

Good read, but got a little bored.

Its an interesting book and I'll likely, eventually, read the next in the series. Perhaps its my adhd, but I found myself a little bored a couple of time. But, overall it was worth it, and like I said, I liked it enough that I'll probably get the next in the series.

The story was good enough, but the once "best agent Amanda and the GBI has" has slowly moved to a pining side character. He played no real part in solving this. His only contribution to the story was to take up storyline as he whimpered about Sarah.

It was well done. The story was entertaining and the performance was well done. However, the plot is the same as the last 7 books. Nothing really new.

From fantasy to romance

The first couple books of the series were pretty good, decent urban fantasy. They were entertaining and kept my attention, that didn't really change throughout, but with each book in the series they morph into romance novels. Not my thing.

I tried 3 or 4 times and just couldn't get into it. Constant laments and no real movement in the plot line.

The book... So there was this lower class guy that the military looked down on and didn't like him. He won a contest but they screwed him. So then he found an AI and an awesome ship. It was super awesome. It beat the much over powered bad guys. Then everybody liked him.

good but new narrator please

The storyline was good and entertaining, but the narrator dropped her voice at the end of each sentence so it sounded like it was spoken by a the stereotypical dumb clueless beach blond.

So Slow

Didn't finish. I listened most of the way through and have only 2 hours left and couldn't get the interest up to finish it. The story wasn't terrible but the plot moved at a glacier pace.

a while lot of talk, not much action
