Entretenido más un poco rebuscado
Revisado: 03-02-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Para escuchar al manejar, sí. No es muy profundo, pero es divertido.
What didn’t you like about Francisco Rivela’s performance?
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Any additional comments?

Historia
From tales of chivalrous knights to the barbarity of trial by ordeal, no era has been a greater source of awe, horror, and wonder than the Middle Ages. In handsomely crafted prose and with the grace and authority of his extraordinary gift for narrative history, William Manchester leads us from a civilization tottering on the brink of collapse to the grandeur of its rebirth, the Renaissance.

Scornful rehash
Revisado: 01-21-13
What would have made A World Lit Only by Fire better?
That it actually had been about life in the Middle Ages instead of the endlessly told story of the rise of the Renaissance salted with one salacious tale after another.
What was most disappointing about William Manchester’s story?
Lacked depth.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Barrett Whitener?
Someone who could read this text without inserting his own opinions through vocal insinuation. The scorn and judgmental phrasing made it difficult to listen for information.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Frustration and impatience.
Any additional comments?
Can't imagine how I came to purchase this book. I must have neglected to check out the reviews first. I am definitely not going to listen to any more of it.
