Historia
Jason has a problem. He doesn't remember anything before waking up on a school bus holding hands with a girl. Apparently she's his girlfriend Piper, his best friend is a kid named Leo, and they're all students in the Wilderness School, a boarding school for "bad kids." What he did to end up here, Jason has no idea—except that everything seems very wrong.

Love the story- but narration…..
Revisado: 03-24-24
We love the Perch Jackson series. They are interesting, captivating and they leave you looking for more.
But for the last two books we have listened to there has been a female
narrator whose inflections present the story like nails on a chalkboard. She reads horribly. There is one male narrator who is ok. The third is fantastic. He has voices for each of the characters and his narrative and inflections are fun to listen to. Stick with him!! There is no need for three narrators.
The other major problem with the narrative is the consistent mispronunciation of Gaia (Guy- yah) as (Gee - a). The narrators need to take the time to be sure they are pronouncing these gods and goddesses names correctly.

This book is well written, beautifully performed. The twists and turns will grab you and bring you to unexpected places. It is inspirational for the musicians in our family who are now off composing their next piece of music craft! Can’t wait for the sequel!

Already facing resistance on all sides, Nora is shaken when she meets a patient who will die without the surgery. If the procedure is successful, her work could change the world. But a failure could cost everything: precious lives, Nora's career, and the role women will be allowed to play in medicine.

Harry Potter meets musical magic.
This story is very much like Harry Potter, but not. It definitely holds the attention as it weaves magic and music together. The plot has twists and turns that keep you expectant. Interspersed are good personal growth lessons. Enchanted kids, enchanted family.

Historia
Here is an explosive book that takes us, for the first time, deep inside a shadowy, fascinating, and surreal world of unscrupulous doctors, anything-goes team directors, and athletes so relentlessly driven to succeed that they would do anything—and take any risk, physical, mental, or moral—to gain the edge they needed to win. The Secret Race is a riveting, courageous act of witness from a man who is as determined to reveal the hard truth about his sport as he once was to win the Tour de France.

What did you love best about The Secret Race?
Showed the true side to Professional cycling, as far as us non-pro cyclists are able to understand. IF it is all true, then they aren't any different than body builders, baseball players, soccer players, and football players. Also makes me appreciate how much hard work actually goes into preparing for a race, doping aside.
Thanks
