Historia
Do you find yourself constantly asking your child to "pick up the pace"? Does he or she seem to take longer than others to get stuff done - whether completing homework, responding when spoken to, or getting dressed and ready in the morning? Drs. Ellen Braaten and Brian Willoughby have worked with thousands of kids and teens who struggle with an area of cognitive functioning called "processing speed" and who are often mislabeled as lazy or unmotivated.

Good, but lacking
Revisado: 11-25-17
I enjoyed the book except I felt like it was lacking. I was hoping for my techniques of how to help those with slow processing speed vs just hearing examples of what slow processing speed is.

What a different world we could live in!
Revisado: 04-19-17
What made the experience of listening to Nonviolent Communication the most enjoyable?
Dr. Rosenberg was easy to listen to, was relatable and gave great information. For far too long we have communicated to be heard, even if we are not clear on what we truly want to say and not to listen, both to our internal selves and those we are speaking with. If everyone used nonviolent communication we would certainly live in a much more peaceful world.
What does Marshall Rosenberg bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I enjoyed that Dr.Rosenberg narrated the book himself, bringing his passion and humor to his workings vs having it read by someone else.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There were moments when I both laughed and cried because this book deals with very personal feelings. You have to want to make changes and be a better version of yourself so allowing yourself to have emotions and take ownership for past behavior and actions will only propel you forward on that destination.
Any additional comments?
I would have liked to have had more examples in some cases. Although examples are given as to a better response to have or use, there were some that did not and I myself learn better with more detailed ques. I also would have enjoyed having the book end with a little more of a solid conclusion or a farewell and well wishes for success from Marshall himself to feel a sense of closure with the book.
