Historia
Hardly a day goes by when nine-year-old Laurent Lepage doesn't cry wolf. From alien invasions to walking trees to winged beasts in the woods to dinosaurs spotted in the village of Three Pines, his tales are so extraordinary no one can possibly believe him. Including Armand and Reine-Marie Gamache, who now live in the little Quebec village.

Historia
Hundreds of thousands of devotees will cheer the return of Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee. The Navajo policemen, are brought together by the death of a man on Ship Rock, almost 1700 feet above the desert floor. The fallen man had sprawled on the ledge under the peak of Ship Rock mountain for eleven years - visited only by the ravens who had picked his bones bare and scattered his rock-climbing gear. Through the memory of those who had known him, emerges an understanding of the fallen man, who had been given everything and found it was not enough.

Have you ever wondered "Why did I do that?" or "Why can't I just control my behavior?" Others may judge our reactions and think, "What's wrong with that person?" When questioning our emotions, it's easy to place the blame on ourselves; holding ourselves and those around us to an impossible standard. It's time we started asking a different question. Through deeply personal conversations, Oprah Winfrey and renowned brain and trauma expert Dr. Bruce Perry offer a groundbreaking and profound shift from asking “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”

Historia
"I’m James Taylor and I’m a professional autobiographer", says the celebrated folk singer at the start of this tender audio memoir. Through decades of music by one of the best-selling musicians of all time, who created classics like "Fire and Rain" and "Carolina in My Mind", James Taylor has doled out his history in the poetry of his work. Taylor says his early life is, "the source of many of my songs", and Break Shot is a tour of his first 21 years in rich, new detail.

The insight is appreciated
Revisado: 05-28-20
What a great story, an insight into a singer-songwriter I've listened to all my life. It's nice to hear about others lives and struggles to help you understand yours better especially when the person sharing is someone you've listened to on the radio all your life. I never fully understood why I enjoyed James Taylor's music so much because his music never resonated in my life. His voice is soothing and calming regardless of whether I relate to the story in the song. He'll always be someone I turn on to just kick back and relax.

Historia
When tribal police officer Bernadette Manuelito arrives to speak at a program for at-risk teens, she discovers chaos. Everyone is concerned about a beloved instructor who went out into the wilds of the rugged lava wilderness bordering Ramah Navajo Reservation to find a missing girl. The instructor vanished somewhere in the volcanic landscape known as El Malpais. The instructor's disappearance mirrors a long-ago search that may be connected to a case in which the legendary Joe Leaphorn played a crucial role.

Loved it! I just can't get enough of Bernadette, Chee and Leaphorn. Each but keeps me on the edge of my chair until I finish it. the whole book you're trying to figure out who the bad guy is and it's never who you expect in the end.

People are broken all over the place. Places are broken all around us. But we were made for better than this: We were made for shalom. We were made to be whole - and to make things whole. This is an empowering journey for those who hunger for a better life, for a better world...for those who want to plant and grow the seeds of restoration in themselves and their communities...and for those who want to see the jagged edges made smooth as we move from brokenness to wholeness.

Excellent book
Revisado: 12-06-17
I loved this book! I don't consider myself a very religious person even though I have studied theology quite a bit and became a non-denominational Interfaith minister. This book taught me something about Christianity, about stories from the Bible and about how it all applies to my life today and those of the people I know around me. It seems to me it doesn't matter whether you consider yourself a religious person, believe in God or not, the take away from this book is life-changing. I listened to this audiobook through the first time and I plan to listen to it again, stopping at each chapter to answer the questions and reflect. I will be recommending this book to all my friends, those who believe and even those who don't.
