After Hours of Listening...the ending ruined it!
Revisado: 07-08-15
Would you try another book from Tiffinie Helmer and/or Mia Chiaromonte?
Not sure. I'll have to check the reviews carefully.
What was most disappointing about Tiffinie Helmer’s story?
SPOILER AHEAD - The ending was ridiculous and ruined the whole book. Guy is shot AND stabbed, and the GIRL suddenly dies!? The end is resolved in an afterlife discussion with her former lovers!? Most stupid ending ever. What a waste of time. Overall the story was ok, a little longer than needed, too much juvenile bitching, but I could have been okay with that if the author hadn't gone off the deep end with the silly ending.

Historia
Since the day Lord Dillon earned his spurs, rumors of his savagery on the battlefield have preceded him into every room, stilling tongues and sparking fear. Weary of battle, he wishes only to find a woman he can wed who will approach him not with fear but with the tenderness that has been absent from his life for so long. Yet only the wisewoman seems invariably at ease in his presence.

Just OK for me

What did you like best about A Sorceress of His Own? What did you like least?
Wanted to like it more but really....it got old. Alyssa is hurt, sick, healing, sleeping, tired, injured, beaten, well you get the drift. If hadn't been such a theme throughout the whole book, maybe I wouldn't have minded so much. The interaction between the H and his brother and friends was pretty good. The whole premise of hiding her true form was pretty weak and the end was so predictable.

What a disappointment
Revisado: 06-10-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I was really looking forward to the next installment of the series but what a disappointment. This review will sound really harsh, but I have to say that having slogged through to the bitter end of the book, I need to sound off. Some character development might have been nice. And maybe some focus on Mason or at least Mason and Ava for a change. This just had more sister drama and somehow, Ava has to become the focus of everything including another crazed killer who becomes focused on her. Why bother to even have a Mason in the mix. Guess I'm done with this series since the formula seems to be set. Ava, Ava, Jane and Ava, Jane, Ava...blah blah blah. If you're reading reviews KE, the questions Ava was asking herself about what she was doing to Mason at the end...well those questions could also apply to me as a reader.
Would you ever listen to anything by Kendra Elliot again?
Maybe, but it sure won't be a buy as soon as it comes out situation. I'll wait for some reviews first.

Wow! The poor hero became a puppy.
Revisado: 02-20-15
What would have made In Kelly's Corner better?
A different ending. The story was a little over the top in places but was pretty good until it veered into the land of the ridiculous. The whole story was built around the fight and the stalker. In the end, the fight was really much ado about nothing and the h became a self righteous rich b**ch whose job became to fix everything herself. She lied and sneaked around but was outraged when people didn't believe her. The 'brother' revelations added nothing to the story except to give it a bit of drama at the expense of a dead guy. There was no H in this book. He was totally emasculated by the author.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Clementine Cage?
Someone who can pull off a Russian accent and who doesn't sound like she's 14.

Revisado: 12-11-14
Any additional comments?
So I'm over halfway through the book and the only thing I know for sure is that I'll get a continuous running commentary of Sam's bumps, bruises, cuts, headaches, and every bite of food she eats. I'm told she is strong and independent but I'm shown that she is needy and can't seem to learn how to manage her abilities. I decided to skip to the last three chapters and did not find any surprises or changes. Narration was terrible.

Was really looking forward to this book but unfortunately I was really disappointed. It seemed to be directed more toward the YA crowd; too many quips and not much action. The big "secret" was lame and the reveal was worse.

Revisado: 06-10-13
Would you try another book from Kresley Cole and/or Robert Petkoff?
No to Cole. Narrator was fine.
Would you ever listen to anything by Kresley Cole again?
Don't think so.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Yes
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night?
Too many to name.
Any additional comments?
Hours and hours of sniping, bitching, whining. While there was a plot buried in here, entirely too much time was spent with this juvenile dialog. Author seems to want us to believe this heroine is brave and resourceful and that the hero is proud of her. What came across to me was hours of spite, selfishness, willfulness. So may the juvenile dialog actually fits. Waste of time.

Horrible
Revisado: 01-14-13
What disappointed you about Dying to Tell?
Soooo much angst. The same thing repeated over and over. If you insist on reading this, just read the 1st two chapters and the last 3 and you'll get to keep the hours you would have spent on the whole book. How many times do we have to have the female characters kidnapped or drugged or attacked or helpless. Don't waste your time. I feel for the narrator.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Almost anything else.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The narration was fine.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Frustration.

The 'heroine' of the story was the least Christian. It's a constant struggle to fine writers who don't feed they must make women either weak or unreasonable, or either subserviant or selfish. I wonder if the author is 15 or is writing for a target group of 15 year olds.
