Historia
Trent Pielmeyer is so done with legend tripping. Hauntings? Nope. Cryptid sightings? Hard pass. Dimensional portals? Not just no but oh, hell no. Because after seven years’ captivity in a whacked-out alternate reality, he’s been there and done that and done that and done that. No more supernatural shenanigans for him. Ever. Full stop.

Enjoyable
Revisado: 09-05-24
Wolf’s Clothing (Legend Tripping #2) By E.J. Russell is an entertaining jaunt back to Portland. Trent is an interesting and complex character with a trunk full of trauma. His history, triggers, and family all play a supporting role in this story. Christophe is a sexy cinnamon roll. I enjoyed their dynamic, a lot. As always, the setting and legend tripping is done incredibly well. Joel Leslie narrating is stellar. Enjoyable listen!

Historia
When a series of personal crises prompt risk-averse research librarian Aaron Templeton to apply for a job on the other side of the country, nobody is more surprised than he is. He nearly runs home before the final interview except for one little problem: he has no home anymore. He put his condo on the market before he left California and it’s already sold. Only an encounter with free-spirited Connecticut native Cody Brown at the Mystic Seaport Museum staves off Aaron’s incipient panic attack.

Wonderful setting
Revisado: 08-01-24
Mystic Man was a lovely novella. I adore a good story with opposites attract with a bit of an age gap. This hit the right notes for me. E.J Russell never disappoints with nailing a setting. I didn’t want to leave. Kirt Graves was stellar.

Historia
Seven years ago, Logan Conner and his legend tripper college roommate stumbled into the middle of a ghost war. Logan escaped. Trent did not. Guilt has driven Logan to hunt for answers ever since—not only for why Trent was trapped, but how to return and save him. On the verge of abandoning the search as hopeless, Logan discovers the solution at last thanks to folklorist Riley Morrel, the man he never expected to fall in love with, and the man he’d do anything to keep safe, including leaving him behind.

Stellar Narration, Questionable Characters
Revisado: 07-07-24
I was really hyped by the premise of this audiobook. Legend Tripping shenanigans gone wrong, and a bit of a bumbling folklorist to the rescue. For the first time E.J. Russel’s writing fell flat for me. I had a hard time liking the characters. Either of them. I kept listening, hoping for both a singular act of redemption, and the growth of a backbone. Only to be disappointed. The build up, the legend, and the setting of the story were lovely, as I expect from an E.J Russell story. Joel Leslie’s narration was stellar, as always.

Historia
If a megalomaniacal earth mage kidnaps your little sister, do you: A) Kill him, B) Kill him, C) Kill him, D) Magically indenture yourself to him to ensure her safe return. Welsh water horse Nevan Quirke would have happily opted for A, B, or C but had no idea where his sister was hidden—so, option D it is. He’s not a fool, though. He made sure to limit his obligation to a single task. Unfortunately, he neglected to nail down a few tiny details before the geas brand was seared into his skin,

Fantastic Romp
Revisado: 08-30-23
Assassin by Accident written E.J. Russell and narrated by Greg Boudreaux was a fantastic romp through the Carnival of Mysteries; as well as E.J Russell’s Mythmatched universe. While a standalone story, it made me want to dive into all of past stories I might have missed! Great characters, engaging plot, and superb voice work by Greg Boudreaux.

Nailed It!
Revisado: 04-07-22
I adored the conclusion to Supernatural Selection series! Zeke has been my favorite character throughout the books, and seeing him find his footing in Demon on the Down-Low was fantastic, and just what I needed!
Hamish was a breath of fresh air, and I found him to be really appealing. Plus, a kangaroo shifter. I love it!
Greg Boudreaux nailed it. I freaking love his narrations as a whole. This one, was amazing. The plethora of accents was beautifully done.

Historia
After half a century of chaos, my retirement from leading the Community of Species Government has been bliss. No more hellhounds playing pranks. No more snippy demons demanding my attention. No more cajoling money from the wealthy to support the community. Just peace while I avoid my overbearing father and try to work out my next steps. Although...maybe three years of peace is enough. It might even be starting to get boring. In fact, an adolescent dragon crash-landing on my landlord's shed is just the kind of excitement I need - especially when he brings his species leader to my door.

Louisa Masters does it again!
Revisado: 03-16-22
A great start to a new spin off series! I don’t think it’s necessary to have read the Hidden Species novels, though if you do, you obviously have more background to what has happened with world building and characters. Two pages in, I was laughing so hard I was worried I was going to choke on my dinner. An awesome book, with sexy snarky characters.
Joel Leslie, as always, is amazing!

Historia
The truth is, I'm an admin assistant who applied for a job that sounded kind of interesting and ended up working for the Community of Species Government. I'm the only human in the office, and basically I ride herd on a team of rambunctious shifters and demons. I also spend a lot of time avoiding Gideon Bailey, the demon I had a one-night stand with right before I took this job. He hates me, and I really want to avoid being murdered. But I've been offered a promotion that will mean working with him, so we're both going to have to get over it

Black girls and women disappear every day, but not without a trace. Join actress and activist Erika Alexander in a neo-noir, true crime drama as she searches for Tamika Huston, a 24-year-old Black woman from Spartanburg, SC who went missing in 2004. Her case became a rallying cry for other missing Black women in America and led to a growing demand to expose a system that ignores missing girls and women of color.

Insightful, powerful and heartbreaking, this podcast shines a powerful spotlight on the fact that black women and girls are still going missing, and that the media narrative is still overlooking their stories.

Entertaining
Revisado: 02-12-22
Entertaining story, with a few pacing issues. Drew and Nova were engaging characters, quirky, and as different as night and day. The sexy times were indeed quite sexy. There were a few times when the pacing was bogged down with details I waited patiently to reappear, as they seemed important. Only they were never mentioned again, leaving me feeling slightly unfulfilled.
Andrew Morrison did a banging job of narrating, I will most definitely be looking forward to more of his work.

Fluffy & Sweet
Revisado: 02-09-22
If you are looking for a a fluffy, sweet paranormal shifter story with semi-low angst, this is your book. Enemies-to-friends-lovers, opposites attracts, mountain man apparel, and so much unresolved sexual tension, there is a lot to recommend about this story! Ted and Quentin are complex characters, whose struggle to be seen by their families and communities will remain with me.
Greg Boudreaux is fantastic! He is rapidly becoming one of my go to narrators!
