Historia
Miranda July’s second novel confirms the brilliance of her unique approach to fiction. With July’s wry voice, perfect comic timing, unabashed curiosity about human intimacy, and palpable delight in pushing boundaries, All Fours tells the story of one woman’s quest for a new kind of freedom. Part absurd entertainment, part tender reinvention of the sexual, romantic, and domestic life of a forty-five-year-old female artist, All Fours transcends expectation while excavating our beliefs about life lived as a woman.

Middle age manifesto
Revisado: 08-03-24
This book had my whole heart, body, and soul. I’m so grateful this love letter to women and life and love and all the little things in between we think about, but don’t talk enough about was spun into the most powerful book I have ever read. In one word, masterful. I doubt I’ll ever feel so connected to a story again. Thank you Miranda for gifting this to the world!

Historia
It is a perfect July morning, and Elle, a 50-year-old happily married mother of three, awakens at “The Paper Palace” - the family summer place she has visited every summer of her life. But this morning is different: Last night, Elle and her oldest friend, Jonas, crept out the back door into the darkness and had sex with each other for the first time, all while their spouses chatted away inside. Now, Elle will have to decide between the life she has made with her genuinely beloved husband and the life she always imagined she would have had with her childhood love.

Just flat
Revisado: 06-17-24
Hung on til the end but it was a slow burn. Good bones and pretty to listen to but the story kinda flatlines and never builds to the romance you think you are promised. It’s a slow hum of a story. Deep and thoughtful, but missing oomph. Where The Crawdad Sings is much more satisfying for comparison.

What a ride!!! Read now!!
Revisado: 01-31-24
This feels like the Bible of what women considering making big hard changes in their monogamous relationship need. Deeply personal, deeply thought-provoking yet sexy and fun as hell. I could be Molly, you could be Molly, honestly we all probably are a little because she’s actually living what feels like a fantasy for most, and yet she so generously and thoughtfully invites us along as she navigates what must have been such a scary uncomfortable time. Never wanted it to end. So grateful for her honestly and vulnerability with this!! Want more of More!

Dark and twisty
Revisado: 12-11-23
One of the better thrillers I’ve listened to this year. If Silent Patient and Verity are 10’s, this a solid 8/9.

Historia
Simon and Vicky couldn’t seem more normal: a wealthy Chicago couple, he a respected law professor, she an advocate for domestic violence victims. A stable, if unexciting marriage. But one thing’s for sure: absolutely nothing is what it seems. The pair are far from normal, and one of them just may be a killer. When the body of a beautiful socialite is found hanging in a mansion in a nearby suburb, Simon and Vicky’s secrets begin to unravel. A secret whirlwind affair. A twenty-million-dollar trust fund about to come due.

Historia
Amber Patterson is fed up. She's tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more - a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne - a socialite and philanthropist - and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale. Amber's envy could eat her alive...if she didn't have a plan.

Historia
In an abandoned mansion at the heart of Barcelona, a young man, David Martin, makes his living by writing sensationalist novels under a pseudonym. The survivor of a troubled childhood, he has taken refuge in the world of books and spends his nights spinning baroque tales about the city's underworld. But perhaps his dark imaginings are not as strange as they seem, for in a locked room deep within the house lie photographs and letters hinting at the mysterious death of the previous owner.

To the Green-Eyed Lovebird: We met 15 years ago, almost to the day, when I moved my stuff into the NYU dorm room next to yours at Senior House. You called us fast friends. I like to think it was more. We lived on nothing but the excitement of finding ourselves through music (you were obsessed with Jeff Buckley), photography (I couldn’t stop taking pictures of you), hanging out in Washington Square Park, and all the weird things we did to make money. I learned more about myself that year than any other. Yet, somehow, it all fell apart.

Perfect for lovers of love
Revisado: 03-14-23
Loved the story, hated the narrator that read for Matt. He was so miscast I almost gave up. The wrong age, bad actor, very awkward to listen to. I hung in there thanks to the amazing reader for Grace. If you struggle with bad narration this may be a pass on audible.
