It is absolutely ridiculous that Audible doesn't let you remove this once it is added to your Library.

I am old enough to remember this disaster. However, like many in the West I only gave it passing attention at the time. The author did a great job of putting together an excellent chronology of the events leading up to the disaster, the actual events of the the day, and then the extensive aftermath via great research and interviews. I found the author's telling of the stories of the people involved to be the best aspect of the book. He put a real human face on it. The thousands of people who worked risking and often giving their lives to contain the disaster, are real heroes the world should know about.

Keefe does an amazing job of taking the reader inside the atmosphere of Belfast in the early 1970s at the peak of the Troubles. He uses this setting and the incredible details he was able to uncover to tell the tragic story of the abduction and murder of Jean McConville, a mother of 10.

This is not a gung ho war book, nor is it an anti-war book, instead it is one man's story of struggling through Vietnam while trying to stay alive and help others to do the same. Jim Purtell offers an honest, straight forward, and easy to read (listen) account of his time in Vietnam as a combat medic and terrors he and many others saw and experienced.

Very interesting and informative. I learned a lot about what the U.S. Federal Government does and doesn't do. Hint: They do a lot or used to at least until Trump got a hold of them.

The narration is good. My only critique is while Michael Lewis's other books jump around a bit, this one is pretty scattered and could have been better thought out and connected.

Michael Lewis is an amazing story teller and a good narrator. In this short story/essay format he makes a compelling argument for strong public funding of weather research and the NOAA and National Weather Service being responsible for weather alerts, not for profit weather stations. Who while entertaining, Lewis presents a solid case they can't be counted on to make hard calls when it really counts for public weather alerts like tornadoes.

The book is largely a compilation of the author's observations in life up to his 30s. There are a few funny stories he tells, but largely the book is repetitive and wonders without purpose or direction. No idea why this book is so popular!

This insightful work by Lewis runs just under one hour, it is both entertaining and informative and the hour flies by. As for the state of the presidency, that is another story. The picture Lewis paints is sad and depressing.
