Historia
When a two-thousand-year-old curse is the only thing keeping you safe, you should probably just leave it alone. Here’s the problem—the curse is now breaking itself. The sanctuary is crumbling, Pell’s anger issues come with a new destructive voice, Pie has no control over her spellings, and Tomas is trying to convince himself that, one day, Madeline is going to love being a dragon.

Deep life wisdom in a fun fantastical story
Revisado: 05-12-23
I loved this whole series. The characters were interesting and complex and brought to vivid life by the narrators. I had to listen to some parts a few times because it could get a little hard to follow, but totally worth the credits & listen. I can’t wait for the next series!

Historia
Three years ago in a large Victorian house on the Jersey Shore in the town of Harbor Haven, fledgling private investigator Paul and his client, Maxie Malone, were murdered. Since then, recent divorcée and reluctant ghost whisperer Alison Kerby and her 10-year-old daughter, Melissa, have moved in and converted the place to a guesthouse, where Maxie and Paul are now checked in for an eternity and ready to solve any case that comes their way - or at least spook the guests (who love it). Alison’s got a lot on her plate at the moment, however, so when Paul discovers the 300-year-old ghost of a small boy in the house, he decides not to involve her in the case.

Loved the new POV
Revisado: 03-03-21
I read other reviews that the “new” narrator was terrible, but I really enjoyed hearing one of my fave romance narrators take on the voice of Paul in this novella. I thought he did a great job with hitting the voices of Paul, Melissa, Allison and Maxie that had been set in tone in prior novels from Allison’s POV (though would have appreciated a toned down version of his Loretta). Having the male narrator reminded me that I was getting a story directly from Paul’s POV, which I also enjoyed as the different POV added some depth to his character for me in the other books from the series. I thought it was a nice addition to the series.

Fun cozy with narration to match
Revisado: 01-02-21
I liked the mix of the references to Regency romance and modern times and the further development of the characters from the earlier books in the series. The narration has continued to improve as well- she did a great job distinguishing the characters and using tone to express their uniqueness- especially enjoyed drunk Brian and cold June. Would recommend to those who like cozy mysteries and getting (fictional) glimpses into the lives of curious authors.

Historia
Sassy, snarky Viola Roberts quit her boring accountant job to pursue her dream of writing novels, even if it meant eating ramen noodles every day. Now that her career has taken off, she's headed to a writers' conference at an exotic Florida resort complete with white-sand beaches and swaying palm trees, where she plans to lounge in the shade drinking frosty beverages with little umbrellas. And, of course, no sojourn to tropical climes would be complete without her boozy, wise-cracking best friend, Cheryl.

Fun cozy for a listen
Revisado: 03-29-20
I got this book because I like cozy mysteries and thought it would be a fun distraction during quarantine. The story was an entertaining, and pleasant distraction. It was a bit slow at times, but the narrator did a nice job distinguishing and portraying various characters with different accents. All in all, it made me want to listen to the next as it’s a light, funny and engaging escape from my day to day.
