Historia
The Bobiverse is a different place in the aftermath of the Starfleet War, and the days of the Bobs gathering in one big happy moot are far behind. There’s anti-Bob sentiment on multiple planets, the Skippies playing with an AI time bomb, and multiple Bobs just wanting to get away from it all. But it all pales compared to what Icarus and Daedalus discover on their 26,000-year journey to the center of the galaxy.

Another Great Installment!!
Revisado: 04-08-25
As usual, great Narration! I love how the Boboverse is unfolding with bigger and bigger mysteries and challenges for the Bob's and humanity. If you've listened to the previous installments then you'll have an idea already for what you're in for, and I think you'll enjoy it as much as I have. I'm already chomping at the bit for book 6! The only down side to finishing book 5 is that at the time of the writing of this review, DET doesn't even have a working title for the next book, so it'll be a while...

Historia
On the prison world of Zartak, darkness has fallen on arbitrators and inmates alike. The Night Lords have come, bringing with them the shadow of fear and pain. But these monsters are not the only ones with an interest in Zartak. From the void, running on silent, another fleet emerges. These Space Marine warriors are grey-clad and white-faced, and their eyes are as black as the Outer Dark – the savage Carcharodon Astra.

Historia
New York City in 1978 is a dirty, dangerous place to live - and die. Joey Peacock knows this as well as anybody - he has spent the last forty years as an adolescent vampire, perfecting the routine he now enjoys: womanizing in punk clubs and discotheques, feeding by night, and sleeping by day with others of his kind in the macabre labyrinth under the city's sidewalks.

Incredible. From story to narration.
Revisado: 08-24-24
I'm not a big fan of vampire stories, but this one was amazing. The main character, Joey, had me hooked from the start. Seeing 1970s NY through the eyes of a perpetual 14 year old was a lot of fun and the vampire lore built up through the novel was familiar yet unique. The Narration was amazing and helped to draw me right in. I highly recommend this novel to anyone that loves horror fiction and a great twist. If you like happy endings, maybe put it down towards the end. You don't have to finish everything you start.

Amazing finish, and in a way, beginning, of The Prophet of the 8th Legions story. First Claw went out as epically as a bunch of backstabbing, sadists could go out. You can't help but feel for Octavia and Septimus, but how else could Talos have a son?

In life, shame. In death, attonment.
Revisado: 12-18-23
Amazing novel, From the story to the Narration, if you're a fan of the Death Korp of Krieg, then this is a must for you. From the "modern day" battle with the Orks for control of a Hive city, and back in time to the very rebellion that drove Colonel Jurten of Krieg to dirty the very souls of his people in the name of the Emperor of Mankind. The audiobook/novel is packed with action and the difficult moral choices that lead the people of Krieg to become the faceless embodiment of faithful service, and unending devotion, that they have become. The inside joke is that Death Korp of Krieg want to die, but it's not that simple, they want their deaths to mean something. They NEED their deaths to mean something. For only in an honorable Death in service to the Emepror of Mankind and the Trillions upon Trillions of his faithful servants, may they attone for the sins of their fathers, and the sins they still forced to partake in to "this very day". For all Krieg has to give are her soldiers.

A lot of fun!
Revisado: 11-15-23
I started this title without the highest of expectations, it was just supposed to be a stop gap audio listen, but I'm so glad I decided to give it a try. it's a lit of fun from start to finish and the premise was a lot more plausible than I had originally thought it would be be. By the time book 1 was over I couldn't wait to get through book 3.
If you're a fan of Action or Appocalyps fiction you won't be disappointed.

Historia
The so-called Tibetan Book of the Dead has been renowned for centuries as a cornerstone of Buddhist wisdom and religious thought. More recently, it has become highly influential in the Western world for its psychological insights into the processes of death and dying - and what they can teach us about the ways we live our lives. It has also been found to be helpful in the grieving process by people who have recently lost their loved ones. This authoritative translation preserves the form and spirit of the original and was prepared especially for Western audiences.

Life Changing
Revisado: 08-17-23
I have attempted to read and internalize The Tibetan Book of the Dead in the past, but Thurman explains, not just the book of natural liberation in a way that can be digested and understood by the western mind, but the basics of Tibetan philosophy and Tibetan views on life and the cycles of rebirth and enlightenment.
I've purchased a physical copy as well and know that I will be listening to and reading this many, many more times. As many as I can before this cycle ends for me.
With that said, this is just the first of Thurmans writings I'll be reading/listening to. For the first time in my life I feel like I may be starting to understand, but I only the tip of an immense iceberg. Hopefully, Thurman can help me see a little more of it, and practice and study may reveal more yet. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to have found this writing.
May we all experience true happiness, joy. fufillment and true enlightenment, if not in this cycle, then the next.

The Fallen have Risen
Revisado: 05-10-23
Before I get into the book I just want to say that the narration was phenomenal. Timothy Watson was the perfect choice. His range is amazing, being able to take on the noble Lion as effortlessly as he does a warp tainted heretic. The narrators of these Black Library books are so important as they become the voice of the characters. From this moment on, no other narrator will ever be able to hold a candle to Timothy's rendition. He is The Lion. But he also did an amazing job with The Lions sons, whether voicing an ancient Space Marine or a golden tongued sorcerer.
The novel itself is a masterwork. I had high hopes for this novel and it surpassed every one of them. I won't give away any of the story here but if you're at all into 40k Lore then this is a must read, whether you are a Dark Angels fan or not. The 10,000 Eyes were an amazing adversary and were a better foe than the standard chaos tainted space marine fodder we usually get, that exist only to be torn apart by bolter fire. This novel does a fairly good job of making you ask what it means to serve, what it means to be loyal and what it means to be forgiven. That last bit is a theme we don't often see in WH40k, forgiveness. It's something the Imperium of Man doesn't really "do" and to have like Lion El'Jonson be able to come to terms with what happened on Calaban and his Fallen Sons is an impressive amount of character development and uts similar to what we have seen with Robute. I know there are 40k purists who will complain that forgiveness and understanding are not grimdark enough and that the Primarchs should remain the men they were in 30k but that's just unrealistic. People developed and change and while the Primarchs are Post-Human, they are still human. The Galaxy is far from saving, farther than it's ever been, but with the Emperor's sons returning things are going to only get far more interesting.
Loyalty is it's own reward.
FOR THE LION!!
