Historia
Young and naïve—those are his exact words. Professor Barclay views me as a nuisance, a disruption of his otherwise obedient class and perfectly regimented life. His bad impression of me stems from a simple misunderstanding. When that impression sours from bad to worse, he decides to make an example out of me in front of the entire class. Every other female student in that auditorium looks on, longing to trade places with me, wishing they were the object of his attention. It’s humiliating. I want nothing to do with him or the tension growing between us, but he feels inescapable.

Miscast
Revisado: 12-14-22
The story was just okay. I love R.S. Grey but I was having a hard time liking the story. I also think the voice actors chosen were the wrong ones. I could not get into the inflection that Ms. Gossage used while reading her part. It was hard to finish listening to the book.

Historia
It’s simple: Noah Peterson and I are enemies. Our fellow teachers know it, our friends know it—even the Starbucks drive-through lady knows it. The shrill whine of the school bell announces the start of each day’s no-holds-barred grudge match. Since neither of us is looking to get fired or thrown in prison, we war with our words and our wits. We prefer banter that bites. All day, I’m on edge, looking around every corner, expecting him to do his worst. Summer usually offers the sweetest relief—a two-month Noah detox—but not this year.

Wrong casting?
Revisado: 11-29-22
I love Sarah Morgan and always look forward to new publications to listen to but I was not too keen on the storyteller. I had to make myself finish the book which is a shame because I do love Sarah Morgan’s books.

Awful narration
Revisado: 09-10-22
Much as the story was salvageable, the narration made the effort cringeworthy. When you cannot distinguish the voice of the hero as male, you know it would be a wasted effort to continue listening.

Historia
Maggie Patel has landed her dream job at The New York Spectator; or, it would be, if she could get a decent story assignment. Very entertaining
Revisado: 12-01-21
I was surprised by the format of this story. It felt more like a radio drama than a book and I could already picture it as a movie on tv. That said, it was entertaining but like another reviewer said, somewhat distracting background noise. I would still recommend it though. The voice actors were very good.

I am hoping for a redo on the reading of this book
Revisado: 09-15-20
The story is captivating, I was excited to find an audible version after I read the book. Much to my dismay, the chosen narrator was horrifying. It made for a screeching monotone and a huge let down for such an interesting book. Please, please do this book over with a better narrator. Emma White ruined it.
