Love this book & the world of Gunnie Rose. Narrator was excellent! Chapter 22 (audiobook) had some details re: the stranger not found in Kindle version (Yay!) Not sure which is canon, but I appreciated the extra info.

Samantha Desz brought the heroine to life. Her voice reflected all of the facets of Sam Quinn---snarky, sardonic, and vulnerable. Just brilliant.

The story was good, too, though the heroine kept making poor choices that put her in danger. I especially loved the creative world building; I really want to go to the Slaughtered Lamb Bookstore & Bar. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. More audiobooks, please!!

I had really liked the book by Robin McKinley, even before I heard the audiobook, but was absolutely blown away by the performance of the narrator, Laural Merlington. She added dimensions to the story that I hadn't even considered. And how in the HECK is she able to voice both an expressive not-too-alto female protagonist and a baritone male vampire complete with multi-tonal harmonics?? And with subtle inflections that make both come across as real people instead of fictional characters? It was just brilliant.

I just listened to the audiobook for the second time in a couple of months and felt that I had to leave a written review to let others know that this is a listen not to be missed.

This book, already a favorite, became even more so because of Carolyn McCormick's wonderful narration. Her ability to not just narrate, but to truly act the story, made me really care about these characters and what happened to them. She added a whole new dimension to an already complex and fascinating story.
