Not a self help book
Revisado: 07-27-21
This book was quite informative and interesting, it was a deeper dive in to human behavior and habits. Even though I consider most of my habits good, I still feel I came away from this book with a deeper understanding of myself. As well as methods and strategies to prevent the loss of good habits, which, in retrospect I was already doing most of them.

Nothing Surprising
Revisado: 01-29-21
Personally, I don’t think it to be a surprise that humans are fallible and inconsistent in our judgments. So, it is nothing new that a simple standardized procedure such as a checklist would help us perform more consistently. The stories and examples in the book are very emotionally charged. While I have deep empathy for those involved I didn’t gain much insight into the creation, use, or development of checklists. A person with sufficient training in system modeling, process control, etc can read between the lines and conceptualize uses beyond the ones mentioned in the text. If you are looking for a systematic method for creating good checklists this is not the book for you. Instead I encourage you to track and keep record of your failings, find common root causes and make a check for that on your list.

A Book of Quality.
Revisado: 12-15-20
This book offers the reader an inspiring perspective of values, reasoning, ethics and other such topics. The reader will find that this text is a never ending journey of self exploration. I hope that you find it as valuable as I have. At times the reader should pause, reflect and research topics and subjects they find interesting or do not know. I’ve read this book several times. This is the first time I’ve listened to it. It has an olde tyme feel that is in-line with the age of this book. The narrator does a great job at intonation and emphasis, but I find it is best read at 1.3x or faster. I found that a faster pace helps string together parts of a whole faster, so that you can pause and reflect on them.

Historia
This is an advanced guide to the game of Catan and goes beyond anything authored previously. It is intended to become a reference piece rather than something that you listen to once and forget. I hope that it inspires you to study the game, your opponents, and your own level of play. This is not just a book of rules, scenarios, and statistics; it is an audiobook designed to change the way you think about Catan.

Nothing a novice doesn’t know
Revisado: 09-20-20
This book is contains simple and arbitrary information that many will find to be novice-level information. Such as where to place the robber, any level of significant critical thinking will yield a response that fulfills the description given by the author. It doesn’t contribute anything new to the game with respect to perspective. Details on a given strategies are missing, instead an overview of the goal of the strategy is given without context to the strategies others implement. An advanced or even novice player may not gain or improve their skills from this text. Concrete examples of turn-by-turn analysis are not included in the text. The writer makes assumptions about the reader’s knowledge of tournament play, novice students of catan with no tournament experience will not know what is meant by “round-robin” or the dynamics of pre-game social engineering which are talked about very briefly. While the writer is no doubt a master catan player, it doesn’t make him a master at explaining the reasoning of the decisions he is making.
