A good story based in NYC

I am a historical Regency romance reader. This is the first story I’ve read or listen to outside England and must admit I was pleasantly surprised.

The length was the only downside.
Revisado: 03-10-25
A classic with plenty of angst. The frustration of near misses. The growth of Tom yet the retention of his good nature. The steadfastness of Sofia yet the retention of her virtue. One of the better novels of the time through the modern filters. The length is the only draw back. But worth it to finally arrive at the end.

Miss Dare is one of my favourite historical romance authors, especially if I am in the mood for a spicy one. She know how to write a good story with plenty of spice.

Historia
All of London is abuzz over the imminent arrival of Wulfric Bedwyn, the reclusive, cold-as-ice Duke of Bewcastle, at the most glittering social event of the season. Some whisper of a tragic love affair. Others say he is so aloof and passionless that not even the greatest beauty could capture his attention. But on this dazzling afternoon, one woman did catch the duke's eye - and she was the only female in the room who wasn't even trying.

Best narrator, best author and best story
Revisado: 11-25-24
When it comes to historical romance, this the best series, the best author and the best narrator. The final book in the story is the best and masterfully brings the family saga to a close with the story of the head of the family.

The best of the series!
Revisado: 11-07-24
I fell for Penthurst from the first book in The series. Lydia, however, took a bit longer. Ever frustrating, and determined to ruin herself. As usual, Penthurst was the consummate Duke, always steady and sure. The story was so typical of a dutiful nobleman waiting patiently for is chosen one to grow up. But always nearby to provide protection. A fairytale we’ve always waited on. Lovely!
