However, the conditions that made possible the notorious escape and the massive manhunt that ensued had been developing for many years prior.

The Invisible walls made visible from the outside!

Although we had followed similar career paths in NY’s prison system, I never knew or worked with Michael. When I listened to the audible version of this book almost 15 years post retirement it snapped me right back into my former prison brain and I felt like Michael and I had worked together as long term colleagues. To the folks we worked with, you will enjoy this book as it will be a walk down memory lane, but it is also a great debriefing. To the folks who never worked in a NY prison, particularly Clinton, this book offers you an opportunity to experience what it is like. The good the bad, and of course the ugly. In a personal message to Michael I relayed to him that I thought he much better than I ever could, articulated my exact feelings about our common experience.
