underwhelming characters

While there were moments in this story that I thought were incredibly well thought-out, including the mental health aspect and the conclusion, I struggled with the character development. I didn't find very many of the characters relatable at all and the most interesting of them were not a big part of the story. Chapters 1 through 14 were underwhelming. 15 and on finally captured some of my attention. The narration was okay but did not add to the story.

I enjoyed listening to this story firsthand from the author, and I appreciated the tone of self-reflection and honesty. If you're at all interested in Christian music and the challenges facing the church, I highly recommend

A fascinating read that was pleasant to listen to and well-paced. My only criticism was that the cases seemed to get less interesting rather than more interesting -- the book is structured in a strange way.

some topics more interesting than others

I was fascinated by many aspects of this book and found myself hooked on many of the research studies. However, the beginning and the end were the most interesting. I didn't enjoy the preoccupation with overeating/obesity as opposed to the far more interesting: wine and music pairings and the influence of mood on sugar.
