Kinda long winded

I had this one on my wish list and decided to get it as an audible book. The story kind of dragged on and I found the narrator’s voice kind of annoying. Everyone sounded the same and that didn’t work for me. I don’t mind if the”villain” sounds like a weasel, but when the “hero” sounds the same it’s kind of off putting. I made it through, but was tempted to stop a couple of times.

Solid performance

This was a book I chose when I started my Audible account and was not disappointed. Having listened to some audible books in the past with less than stellar voice performances, I was pleased with this reading. The story was engaging, as were the characters. I have been a fan of James Rollins and his Sigma Series for a long time and was not disappointed with this offering. Having read the previous ones myself, I was not sure about letting someone else interpret it for me but it worked. I listened to this one on a drive from Salt Lake City to Sacramento so got to hear most of it in one “sitting.” This Audible thing just might work.

Worth the wait

I’ve been a fan of Matthew Reilly since I picked up Ice Station all those years ago. He tends to take a long time between books, but they are always worth the wait. This story is an entertaining, over-the-top action romp that hits the ground running and doesn’t let up. Not much else I can say without spoilers, so I’ll just say, check this one out. If you are like me and a fan of Jack West, you won’t be disappointed.
