I absolutely loved the first part of The Jeremiah Hunt Chronicle, and although the sequel is not quite as good as the first part or the series, it does a reasonable job of keeping you interested.

I've never read one of Amanda Hocking's novels before, and I must say that I really enjoyed this one. Although there are some common romantic themes which tend to dominate all gothic novels these days, this one at least deals with a fresh variety of beings from a unique society that has not been done to death in the mould of vampires and werewolves. Theresa Plummer does a competent job with the narrative and it kept me interested and entertained.

Unusual tail (umm, tale) of old, age bull

This is one more of the unusual stories I have listened too lately. The author has a distinct prose that vascilates between the poetic and the bestial, to which the actor produces a fine performance. I found the story itself to be a bit mundane at times, although it was precisely that mundanety that he was probably trying to communicate about a mythological being who has seen better days and is now exhausted by the length of time. Although it was interesting to begin with, I found myself getting bored by it all. I think this is a tale for people with an interest in mythology, but not necissarily everyday fantasy.
