Historia
Power corrupts―as we've seen time and time again. People too often abuse their power and play god in the lives of others. Shady politicians, corrupt executives and ego-filled media stars have made us suspicious of those who wield influence and authority. Yet power is also the means by which we bring life, create possibilities, offer hope and make human flourishing possible. This is "playing god" as it is meant to be. With his trademark clear-headed analysis, Andy Crouch unpacks the dynamics of power that either can make human flourishing possible or can destroy the image of God in people.

Andy Crouch once again writes with insight and clarity about a topic which for which clarity is elusive, controversial and polarized -- Power. A must read!

Historia
Journey with Olympian Ryan Hall as he reflects on the joys and trials of the running life and, along the way, shows you how his faith has helped him win in his workouts, races, and overall mindset. Ryan Hall is an Olympic athlete and American record holder in the half marathon (59:43). But as a kid, Ryan hated running. He wanted nothing to do with the sport until one day, he felt compelled to run the 15 miles around his neighborhood lake. He was hooked.

Devotional Memoir
Revisado: 10-17-22
As a Christian, I appreciate Ryan Hall's memoir, though it read like a daily devotional wrapped around the highs and lows of his running career. There as much in this book to encourage one's faith. If you're looking for a pure running story however, this probably isn't the book for you. if you're looking to read a story of someone's faith journey who happened to be an Olympic runner this would be a great story for you. And it would be a great book for those young Christian runners in your life who are figuring out how to live out their faith even as they participate in competitive running. Overall the 26 chapters are well formulated and well written though at times Hall repeats the same stories to make different points.

Inspirational and Fun
Revisado: 09-21-22
The guys at Outdoor Vitals are an inspirational group of outdoor junkies who work well together to tell stories, share insights, offer helpful hints and ideas and generally encourage me - the listener - to get out more. The podcast is a great mix of everything someone in love with the outdoors and backpacking would want to hear. I love their upbeat attitudes and family friendly atmosphere. Thanks guys for a great podcast.

Historia
The days of cultural Christianity are fading. It's time to rethink normal. Suffering and exclusion are normal in a believer's life. At least they should be. This was certainly Jesus' experience. And it's the experience of countless Christians around the world today. No matter your social location or set of experiences, the biblical letter of 1 Peter wants to redefine your expectations and reinvigorate your hope.

Great book for the American Christian
Revisado: 08-31-22
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the authors message drawn from the apostle Peter's writing in his letters to the church and his own experience serving the Lord in Central Asia. An important message to help the North American Church refocus on the core missionary task of sharing the good news of Jesus and making disciples rather than a culture war pursuing preserving our rights and our comfortable way of life.

Historia
What would cause Experience Life Church, frequently named one of the fastest growing churches in the country, to completely change directions? Why would they risk an attendance drop and a decrease in giving to pursue a vision that has seldom been attempted in the American church? The leaders of Experience Life knew this journey would be risky and calculated the costs before ever beginning. They believed that following Jesus and aiming to reach millions was worth any cost. Be careful with this book! It might inspire you to risk everything you have to follow Jesus. You've been warned.

Helpful book for church leaders
Revisado: 09-23-19
This was a helpful first hand account of a church embracing a God sized vision (to reach 1 million in the next ten years) and the paradigm shifts they made to be able to do that.
